Instructions
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Arrange your beads
Lay out your beads in the order you want them to appear — traditionally blue at the top, white in the middle, and red at the bottom to mimic the flag colors. - Thread onto the headpin
Slide one blue bead, one white bead, and one red bead onto each headpin. Make sure the colors face the same way for both earrings. - Form a loop
Using your round-nose pliers, bend the remaining headpin wire above the beads into a loop. Trim any extra wire with your cutters. - Attach the earring hooks
Open the loop at the base of the earring hook slightly with your pliers, slip the beaded headpin loop inside, and close it securely. - Check for balance
Hold the earrings up to make sure the beads hang evenly and the colors line up nicely.
Tips & Variations
- Swap faceted beads for pearl-style beads for a softer look.
- Add a small silver star charm at the bottom for extra patriotic detail.
- Make a matching bracelet or necklace for a complete set.
These earrings aren’t just for the 4th of July — wear them to Memorial Day, Veterans Day, or any time you want a dash of Americana in your outfit.
