Instructions
This Gorfickle The Cat plushie free sewing pattern is a fun and quirky handmade soft toy project for anyone who loves sewing fabric animals, character plushies, and cat-themed gifts. Made with polar fleece fabric, toy filling, and simple sewing supplies, Gorfickle has a soft body, long stuffed legs, a playful face, and a fleece scarf that gives him extra personality while neatly covering the neck seam.
The pattern is easy to customise, so you can make your cat tall, short, colourful, silly, sweet, or completely unique. Use bright fleece, recycled fabric, striped scraps, embroidered features, buttons, or leftover trims to create your own version of this handmade cat softie. It is a cute project for cat lovers, nursery décor, handmade gifts, craft stalls, or anyone who enjoys making soft toys with character.
Start by printing out the following patterns. These pattern pages should be sized to fit onto a standard A4 sized paper.
Cut 1 body piece
Cut 2 head pieces
Cut 2 legs 4.5″ x 12″ (11.5 x 30.5 cm) or you can make yours shorter or longer.
Sew the two head pieces together leaving an opening at the bottom. Tun inside out.
Stitch the body piece with the seam at the back and leave a gap for filling with Toy Filling or Wadding
Now stitch the head to the body.
Stitch your legs together and fill with wadding.
Sew the legs onto the base, remembering that your legs should be facing inside so that when you turn your body, the right side around the legs will be on the outside.
Fill your cat firmly with wadding and stitch up all the openings.
Follow the picture for the face but you can give your own cat personality by tweaking the face design to suit your style.
Make a scarf with a length of fleece to wrap around his neck and to hide his neck seam.
