Sock Sally

Sock Sally

This project shows you how to make an adorable Sock Sally in true Sock Monkey pattern style. We used a pair of baby shoes and a beanie making her a great keepsake project.

What you need

1 pair of socks
1 adult sized beanie
1 baby shoes
toy filling/wadding
wool for hair
ribbons for hair

Instructions

Step 1: Start by cutting the legs off the socks. Use the feet part for the hands.

Step 2: Fill the hat  and then fill the leg part of the socks and the shoes with all with wadding.

Step 3: Stitch across the bottom of the beanie to form the body, sew the legs into place as you go. Sew the shoes onto the legs.

Step 4: Stitch the hands into place onto the side of the head. You can add  fingers by cutting slits and stitching closed as shown in the picture but this is optional.

Step 5: Create hair by using strands of wool. Stitch the wool hair onto the head down the middle creating a hair part. You can also glue this section on.

Step 6: Use felt pieces or old buttons to make the eyes and mouth.

And you’re done!
