T-Shirt – Backless Top Hack

T-Shirt – Backless Top Hack

Learn how to cut up this t-shirt into a sexy backless top with no sewing required!

You'll learn how to cut three columns in the back of the t-shirt – two narrow on each side and one wide in the middle. You can choose to leave them as horizontal strips, weave all of them, or tie the middle strip into bows! Use your creativity and have fun with this sexy backless t-shirt!

What you need

1 t-shirt
1 pair of scissors
1 metal ruler (optional)

Watch the video tutorial on the Salinabear YouTube Channel!

I started off with this t-shirt from Hamburger Disco with swarms of hamburger bees (so cute!) in a size small printed on a American Apparel shirt.

Step 4: Braid the two narrow columns using this tutorial -> Step by step weaving tutorial back-cut-up-tshirt-weaving-laddering-salina-siu-salinabear-4

Step 5: Cut the wide column in the middleback-cut-up-tshirt-weaving-laddering-salina-siu-salinabear-8

Step 6: Your choice to customize the middle column. You could weave it or use another idea but I used strings to double knot groups of 5 strings to make a “bow” look. I created strings from the bottom hem that I cut off in the beginning. back-cut-up-tshirt-weaving-laddering-salina-siu-salinabear-6

Step 7: Optional, but I cut off the first four strings to get rid of the logo and create a lower back back-cut-up-tshirt-weaving-laddering-salina-siu-salinabear-7

And then, ta-da, you’re done!
