Finishing

Lightly Block Scarf

Blocking scarf

To block scarves use hot iron and kitchen size towel wet. Lay scarf on iron board or hard surface and place wet towel over scarf, lightly press iron on towel, do not move but just quick press. This steams the scarf and flattens it out so it lays nice. Repeat for full length of scarf. As you steam press be sure you shape if needed. Let dry for a tleast 15 minutes. If you leave iron on to long or press hard you can ruin scarf.

Flower Stamen – With C cut 42 six inch strands. Attach 3 to each flower center and tie tight then knot about 1 inch from flower and trim.

Comments

  1. I made this for my sister, who is two. The pattern was very easy to follow and after I got the hang of it, the flowers worked up pretty quickly. I only make eight flowers, since it was for a toddler and after I stitched them all together, I made a border around the whole thing with the color of the middle. Thanks for such a great pattern!

  2. These are awesome to do, but I had an idea for a pin (I guess) instead of a scarf, as well as a different way to begin. I haven’t tested it yet, but my idea(s):
Magic circle 5sc in center color with hook size H or I
Work Petals as above with E hook (sharing 1sc with other petals) AND, if desired, to make petals (slightly) smaller, decrease ends after 6sc for (4) stitches.
    FINISHING:
With a green color, ch2, turn, ch1, sc across (2), turn, continue on as petal instructions. When finished, take a different color green (or other that suits design) and stitch in leaf veins. Whip stitch base of petals together (so they’re not floppy) and stitch stamen and leave(s) to flower (2 leaves are nice, more would overpower design if using as a decoration or a hat or as a pin)

  3. Very cute! Im going to attempt to make this for my sister before Christmas. Hopefully i get it done!
