Instructions

Welcome to this fun and easy tutorial on how to make plant pot gnomes! These little guys are so adorable and customizable, you’ll want to make them by the dozen. The great thing about this project is how versatile it is. You can use different colored yarns for their beards, add different shaped plants to their pots, and even theme them for the holiday season.

For example, use white fur and red ribbon to create a Santa-themed gnome pot for Christmas, or pastel colors for Easter-themed gnomes.

Despite their simplicity, these gnomes are sure to add a touch of whimsy to any room they’re in. They’re also great for gift-giving, especially for Mother’s Day. With just a few materials and some creativity, you can have a whole bunch of these little gnomes for your home.

First, gather all of your supplies. You will need a clay flower pot, faux fur, twine, a wooden bead, an x-acto knife, and a hot glue gun. Once you have all of your supplies, you can begin the process of wrapping your clay pot in faux fur.

Start by cutting a 3 inch by 3 inch section of faux fur using the x-acto knife on the backside of the fur. This will help prevent any damage to the front of the faux fur.

Next, cut off the bottom corners of the faux fur to create a more tapered look that will fit nicely around the bottom of the flower pot.

Next using the hot glue gun, add a line of glue to the top of the fur and press firmly onto the clay flower pot

To add some extra texture and interest, you can wrap some twine around the top of the flower pot. Start by adding a dab of hot glue to the backside of the pot, then wrap the twine around the top in a spiral pattern until you reach the desired look. Once you’ve wrapped the twine around, trim off the end and add a dab of glue to secure it in place.

Next, add a dab of glue to the wooden bead and then press firmly onto the middle beard.

The wooden bead to the middle of the twine forms the nose. To do this, add a dab of glue to the wooden bead and then press it firmly onto the middle of the twine. This will give your faux fur-wrapped flower pot a charming bohemian vibe that is sure to impress.
