Dammit Doll

Dammit Doll

This pattern makes great little Dammit Dolls for stressful people and can be thrown, jabbed, stomped and even strangled till all the frustration leaves you. We have included a dammit doll poem with some fun variations of the poem too.

What you need

Calico or felt
Wool or doll hair
Toy filling
Sewing machine
Felt pens

Instructions

Attach this little dammit doll poem to go with it:

When you want to climb the wall,
And stand right up and shout.
There’s a little Dammit doll
You cannot do without.

Just grasp it firmly by the legs,
And find a place to slam it.
And as you whack the stuffing out
Yell Dammit, Dammit, Dammit!

If Dammit’s not a word you say
Then twist its little neck
And grumble out repeatedly
Oh Heck, Oh Heck, Oh Heck!

And once your done abusing it
Just sit it on the shelf.
But hug it first, as I’d hug you
If I were there myself.

You need to create a basic doll shape and cut it out of fabric.

Use this pattern:

Dammit, Doll Pattern.

You will need to re-size the pattern to fit your needs.

You can use any color fabric you want, but if you intend on adding facial features you will need to keep the fabric light for your dammit doll.

Cut out 2 body shapes and sew around the edges. Turn the dammit doll the right side out and using a pen push out any edges in the hands and legs till it is all turned the right side out.

Then using your toy filling stuff the doll from the leg up remembering to keep it firm enough so you can write against it.

Keep filling the doll till you reach the head, then use some glue or a few hand stitches to close up the head.

Use your waterproof felt pens to draw on some facial features and glue the hair along the head seam. You can add as much or as little detail as you want to your doll.

Computer Dammit Doll Poem

Weird things happen as you hit return

Or your keyboard just can’t spell

Things don’t seem to be going well

And the computer has a sudden “chill”

So instead of yanking the plug out

Just take this doll and whack it against the monitor as you shout

Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!

Road Rage Dammit Doll

In your car as you go to work

The guy in front is a jerk

Since he won’t get out of the way You yell, “I need to get there TODAY!”

Then to get more frustration out

Just grab the doll and whack it

On the dashboard as you shout,

“Dammit, Dammit, Dammit!”

Sports Rage Dammit Doll

When the referee has made a bad call

And you want to yell and hit the wall

Or a player’s missed an easy score

And you can’t take it anymore,

Just grab this doll and whack it

At the TV as you shout And knock the stuffing out,

Dammit! Dammit!, Dammit!!

Comments

  1. As a survivor of Domestic Violence, I love this doll. I find is VERY therapeutic!

  2. I used to make these back in high school (over 30 years ago) and sell them at craft fairs. So fun and they always sold out. The comments here are cracking me up. As for “hurting” the doll or seeing it as destructive/bad influence, I guess I never thought of actually “using” it – it was just a funny little doll that made people laugh. Not that whacking it around can’t be therapeutic. 🙂 I just always thought of it as a novelty. And the “bad words” people – wow; even 30 years ago people didn’t find it offensive. It was all in good fun. I even sold them at church fairs and never got any negative comments (and they sold out fast!). Today, it seems people jump on the PC bandwagon just to have a reason to complain and criticize. Anyway, thanks for reminding me of these funny little dolls and letting me ramble. 🙂 — Kathy

  3. Love these, my MIL made one for her grandson years ago, my 5 year old came home after visiting with her and was having trouble with her doll. She threw down her doll and said that dammit dolly! I think they are a good idea for relieving stress. I think I need one.

  4. Awesome! Love it, going to make them for my friends and family 🙂

  5. What a great craft this is. When I first started to work in an office and had a bad day with typing errors I would say “Oh Sugar.” If it was a really bad day I would say “Oh Sugar, Sugar, Sugar!!!. When I make this doll her name will be “Oh Sugar”.

  6. Cant wait to make one for myself and all my friends and sisters.I’ll get a lot of use out of the one I make for me.

  7. They cute but I am looking for a pattern about 10-12 inches
    Kay D

  8. Wow… Awesome. I love the poems. They crack me up. How about sewing machine frustration?
When your stupid machine just won’t work
And everyone seems like they are being a jerk
Grab this little doll and yell
Till you get over your little spell…
    “Dammit, Dammit, Dammit!!!!”

  9. also, in the case of making yard hair, sew loops of yarn in a row over top of head, adjusting for length of finished hair length. After sewing firmly in place either by machine or hand, cut loops, and brush to fuzziness desired 🙂

  10. My dad made me a doll from one of his old world war II socks, and instead of painting the face on or gluing the hair, he embroidered the facial features, and sewed the fuzzy yarn hair securely in place. NO kidding, and it was the coolest rag doll I had. Of course in the course of 66 years I do NOT have her any longer, but I am going to make one as close to resembling her for my granddaughter.

  11. I LOVE this project but have trouble sourcing quick hair applications for them. Any ideas? I want to make a few of them so don’t want to fiddle around too long with the hair. ALSO…what a GREAT site this is. I too found it by accident..

  12. Cute idea with many uses.

  13. wow you could turn this into a psychology project or throw darts at it for great stress relief

  14. My boss is getting one in the morning!!!!

  15. I’m going to give these to every stressful person in my family, so I guess I have to make one for everyone. lol

  16. I was a nurse manager at a long term care facility. A family member brought these for all of the staff. How fun!

  17. themidnitesun says

This is hilarious! LOVE the name 🙂 Going to make one for all the stressed people I know (including me)

  18. I think this is a very cute project!
For those who don’t like using the term “dammit doll”, have you listened to the radio lately? They use “damn”, “hell”, and “ass”. I agree that you might want to change the name for young children to discourage the use of these terms at school/daycare. Eventually they will discover the words though. I think it is better to hear it from a parent who then tells them not to use the word than from kids at school.

  19. Love the dammit dolls, gave them to friends going through serious health issues. For those of you who are so pc….get over yourself…..slammit doesn’t have the same effect as DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT.

  20. I made 4 of them in 6 hours for my Nascar fans. They are so qute. I LIK

  21. love this doll, havent seen one in many years….had one many years ago made by my mom..love it!!!!!

  22. if you are looking for a more pc name i have heard them called whack it dolls love these dolls

  23. HAHA LOVE IT!!!!!!

  24. don’t hit your dolls, u nvr know if they have feelings or not! and when they rule the earth, they will punish u!!!!

make a candy bar or a baseball bat, not a cute doll!

  25. Thanks for all of the sayings with the doll! I love all of the ideas you have added. I had a challenge in my ATC group to make doll so I made a mini dammit doll. its 3.5 inches tall! lol Thanks again.
    Linda Israel

  26. I made one for one of my teacher friends at work…she loves it and now several teachers want one too 🙂

  27. get over it its called a damnit doll not a slammit doll !!!!!!!!!!! its 2010 not 1930

  28. hahahaha the doll up top looks an awful lot like my meme (grandmother), whom I dislike very much and I unfortunately live with. It’s perfect.:D

  29. I think this is a wonderful stress reliever….of course dolls don’t have feelings and it is better to take your anger out on an inanimate object rather than a person…..treat others as you want to be treated and take out your frustration on a dammit doll! I will be making these for holiday gifts with the Slammit idea for the people under 18!

  30. HA HA! That is perfect for my mom!! She will be soo proud when I tell her the name!!!! I’ll tell her the site too!! I SOO EXITED! 😎

  31. Wow! I love it! This would make an excellent present for stressed friends etc!

  32. slap it doll

  33. Pick a nicer name

  34. FIVE STAR

working for a government agency my dolls get a real workout.
I give them for christmas presents.

  35. Really Cool! I Made One For Myself And It Turned Out Great! Just A Suggestion Though: If You Have White Fabric And Your Throwing It And Whacking It, The White Fabric Soon Turns Brown…Do Not Wash If You Have Drawn On Facial Expressions 🙁 Unless Your Going To Sew Buttons For The Eyes…… I Wouldn’t Use White Fabric….
    Taylah Y. 11.

  36. gd work

  37. awesome!!!!!!

  38. I have had so much fun with these dammit dolls. I made some for my friend for the casino and we dam the slots for not paying off.

  39. Cute but I wouldn’t slam it around! I’d make it for some little girls or something! Dolls are not meant to be thrown around! They’re meant to be loved! =D
Although, I love the idea… It’s probably alot easier than getting really mad at people and than them getting mad at you!
I agree though with the person who called it the SLAMMIT doll. The other word could be taken offensively.
    4 1/2 stars (if I could!)

  40. I am going to make one of these but Im not going to use it to thwack things with when Im angry!!! Dolls have feelings too!! It will live on my desk in my sewing workshop!!

  41. dammit, dammit, dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  42. so cute 😀 im thinkin one for my bf for sure this is a brilliant idea

  43. this project just makes me laugh

  44. I like this web site. I founded by acciden. tThis is a very good. idea I was looking for something like this for charity. I made my own pattern bigger, I like this one, it will be suitable for the frustation issue as well as to give to a little girl in some country were they don’t have much, it will definetly keep you out of trouble lol. thank you for this and the other projects.

  45. Think this is hilarious , and I might make one, scrath that I will make one! even if you dont through them around they will still be fun to dress up or give them to younger relatives as dolls, they dont even have to be “dammit Dolls” they could just be “Dolls”
I dont see how they are offensive, or promoting violence at all really? and I know a few goths, ones a christian, and they are really nice people =D they dont worship Satan or any of that, and theyare still Humans mind you =D So they have feeling all those that think Goths are violent, Gloomy, Dark and all that stuff, You are wrong, they have feelings, hopes, dreams and friends! You are doing what is called Labeling, which I am against =P
But anyway enough hate, more work! *claps happily*
Have an awesome day and Stop The HATE!
    *poddles off to make dolls*

  46. my friend needs this

  47. starlight94 says

    hahaha i love the poem’s,
i think i might give one to my brother as his computer has “chilles” very often..
and he gets really angry..so this is just the right thing for him .
    Thanks

  48. Oh, come on guys it’s just a play thing. Why get so ludicrously rude and serious over a little doll? Dammit? Come now, you can’t honestly tell me you’ve never let the word slip when you were around your kid(s). What do you think they are going to here when they get older? My Mom cusses all the time, and I cuss a little too, but not to such a level that it would be distasteful or whatever. If you really are looking after your kid and stuff, then you’ll teach them either not to say it, or when it’s appropriate to say it. Don’t get to worked up over a stress reliever. Sounds to me like those of you getting so worked up could use a Dammit Doll right about now. Five stars, bravo.

  49. THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  50. I use to make these many years ago and had lost the poem and the pattern. Can’t wait to make some for friends and family. Great gag gift for the office.

Thanks for bringing back good old memories.

  51. When giving to a kid may I suggest you call it and the saying to say “SLAMIT” instead of DAMIT?
Damn is a swear word, and only reinforces the child to swear. Teachers in school would not think it’s cool

  52. very funny! mom will love it!

  53. So cute!!!

  54. This rocks! I’m going to use guest’s idea and turn this into a baby shower gift for my nephew, but with a blanket to turn it into a blanket dammit doll!! Delish!

  55. i can just t ake any other doll and whack it around but the idea that i make a doll for the simple purpose of hitting it around when im angry, that’s jus brilliant!!!

  56. THESE SOUND AMAZING!

  57. Ahaha. I think this is a pretty intersting idea. I plan on making one for my best friends parents 😀
It’s rather funny that people get so riled up about a doll. I do understand that it may seem offensive and negative, but I find it a rather silly thing to get angered about. If you watch the news you will find that plenty of horrid things are happening out there. If you think this is so offensive I guarentee you can find many more offensive things in your nearest middleschool. Trust me. The kids there can swear like sailors.
However I do understand why people might not want something like “damnit” sported on a websie like this for their younger children. Perhaps for those people I would suggest looking over sites before letting their young children go online. Alsol, I find it strange to think that one doll is going to turn a shild into a foul mouthed beast. Simply explain to them why you would rather they did not make dolls like this or say things like “damnit” and that should be enough.
Oh yes. And those of you who attack people who don’t like this in an angry manner seem show a certain amount of imbicility themselves. Let us all remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And to state your opinon is exactly what leaving comments is for.
Anywho. Nice idea. Have a good day.

  58. I bought one of these for my mom at a craft fair to keep at work for when she gets stressed, I dont think she has ever used it but now she wants to try and make them. I love all the exta poems, Im thinking of making one for my road raged father, lol.
The word is not offensive, Ive heard so much worse and if it offends you, click off the page and move on. You dont need to get down on people because you are on your high horse!
Love the website and all the ideas! Keep up the great work 🙂

  59. this is great, everyone I know needs one of these dolls. I’m gonna make one for my neice’s new baby for sure (as a joke of course).

When you want to kick your toys or throw your paci about,
here’s a little dammit doll you cannot do without.
Just grasp it firmly by the legs & find a place to slam it,
And as you whack it’s stuffing out, yell “dammit, dammit, dammit”!

  60. thats a sweet idea, the first poem about the desk and phone was great but the rest aren’t so good, can anyone come up with a really good poem about work in general???

    =)

  61. i like it xD

  62. those of you who are worried about your kids reading or saying damnit DO NOT let them online. also if that is what YOU have to worry about, GET A LIFE!!!! and GROW UP!!!

  63. I received a Dammit Doll last year and just loved it, especially the way if was given to me. My mom made the Dammit Doll, then she covered a shoe box with contact paper, then she filled it with with fabric remnants, needles/thread, googly eys and pop-poms, as well as the Dammit Doll pattern and instructuions. So not only did she give me acute gift, she gave me the makings for another doll to pass on to my recipients, so that they can make one to send on, keeping a Dammit doll chain going!
Somewhat like friendship bread, you give a gift loaf, and you give the baggie of yeasted bread mix, with a recipe card and baking directions. Then keep the flow going by gifting a loaf friendship bread with batter in a baggie for your friend to do the same to her friends.for your friend to make one to pass along,
    Enjoy,
    Kimbo

  64. Cool!!!
    I LOVE IT!!!

  65. I think some of these ill-informed comments are as funny as the original idea! Here is a little insight for those that think this is a Voodoo Doll.

    1) A Voodoo Doll (properly called a “fetish”) is made in the image of the target and with something of theirs, i.e, nail clippings, hair, clothing they have worn and not washed yet etc.

    2) A fetish can also be used for healing, not just harming. Its down to the caster how the fetish is used, if they intend harm, that’s what happens.

    3) There is much more to fetishes and poppets that I care to list here. If you are still thinking these are “Voodoo Dolls”, go and google about it and learn from people who practice the religion before classing an innocent craft idea as “evil” and “Voodoo”.

  66. Hahahahhaha I LOVE it! I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in such a long time 😛

  67. hahaha XD

  68. Saw one in a resturant many, many years ago with a similar poem. I made many for Christmas gifts and they were loved. I thought I might try to make some again.

Those that have to be “politically correct”, GET OVER IT!

  69. wow…sounds pretty good…I think I should try to make one

  70. Very cute.:)

  71. What a very cute and wonderful idea! I am going to use this for people at work! I have bookmarked this site for your many wonderful idea……..thank you so much and may your holidays surround you with love, family, laughter and friends! God Bless You!

  72. …no. voodoo is not a game. making fun of something that is serious to some people of certian cultural backgrounds. and i dont its a good idea making a voodoo doll as a “play thing”.

  73. I made these in High School in the 80’s. Everyone loved them but the Bible Thumpers

  74. This is such a cute idea!

  75. lol dammit?

  76. these are so fricken awesome man like dammit is the coolest name ever for a voodoo doll it is so cool:x

  77. cool

  78. Haha who’ve thought there would be so much controversy over a little doll!! Who cares if someone makes their OWN doll then destroys it themselves-it’s like building a sandcastle or snowman then smashing it down…it’s just for F-U-N. If the word “dammit” offends you, you best not hear what the rest of the world has to offer in terms of profanities. I’m going to put one in my boyfriend’s birthday gift-basket, he probably won’t “hurt” it because I made it…but still I think it’s a fun idea, that makes for a cute little homemade gift!

  79. I love it!! I made these one time for a craft fair and they sold really well..

  80. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  81. just cant stop laughing!! gr88 idea…i actually hv a friend who slams her cell phone on the floor or the wall everytime she’s angry…think i got the perfect present for her!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  82. this is a great idea its like a voodoo doll but better

  83. hahah! this is a superb idea. i’m just worried about how people will look at me after i have a fit with my dammit doll in public. i hope i won’t look too insane, more people should have these dolls. great idea! 🙂

  84. I am going to name mine after my granddaughter who is going through the terrible two’s early

  85. wow, it’s a great idea. Thanks a lot, I think I’m gonna make one for myself too!

  86. Oh, why didn’t I come back to this my freshman year of college?! I found it a couple years ago looking for just a basic doll pattern, and really could have used it last year! I think it’s a wonderful idea to (not so) quietly handle frustrations privately!

  87. hahahaha! this little doll is a pretty amazing idea! if you really want to, it helps to name it after your boss!!!!!!

  88. Any ideas on what we could say instead of dammit? I love this idea but I think a different name would be nice so it could be sutible for many people 🙂

  89. I love the dammit doll i get so mad everyday i really needed something like this

  90. melinda123 says

eew this doll is like a freaken vodoo doll i think that this is the worst idea ever

  95. I love it… if people are worried about their children reading words such as dammit… why do they let them search on the internet, im telling you theres much worse than dammit on the net! if your worried for your childrens eyes dont let them roam the ne

  96. I love this doll i will make one for every one of my family and friends

  97. I like it. But I cannot make it, I don’t have anything to sew with. I’m hoping to get a sewing machine.

  98. This is HILARIOUS!!!. And I’m only 12, and I can do all of this stuff. I love the arts and this website is perfect. I recommended it to everyone I know! Keep up the wonderful and HILARIOUS work!

  99. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS WEBSITE!
Im only ten and i can do ALL of this stuff! im a big craft person and this is perfect for me! keep thinking of new ideas! DENISE

  100. Made one for everyone in school- secretary, teacher, gym teacher, etc

  101. i liked it but i can’t make it, i have no sewing machine. chihuaualover1234

  102. I LOVE ITTTTT I m going to make my whole family a personalised 1 lol x

  103. watergoddess1998 says

I like the Idea that you can make a cute little doll but…
It’s not really good to damn your own creation
Instead I would hug and nurture my cute little doll! Who’s with me?

  104. I have bipolar disorder, so I’m hoping that this can help me with some of my frustrations. Thanks so much for this awesome idea.

  105. Now we create things to pacify our violence instead of stopping it? Not offended by the word, just know it doesn’t solve anything. If you’re offended by this comment, maybe you are the one with the issue. Not narrow-minded just mature. KingdomKid

  106. Love it!!!!!

  107. this is very helpful to many.

  108. this idea is great im gonna make a computer shaped one for my boyfriend

  109. starfish1797 says

wow!! missionary Kid, you need to get out more.. most goths dont worship satan. and these are wickedly cute. love it

  110. nice way to get out anger. my mom is going to need the road rage one

  111. LOVE IT! incredible GENIUS idea, maybe if 50% of a$$holes out there use one of these, the world would be a GREAT GREAT place. I made a few of these as gifts, and People LOVED IT!

  112. this is excellent. is not only good for stess. it is like the foam bat my therapist uses to releive built up anger in his office so is good for therapy too.

  113. interesting…

  114. What a lovely idea for stressed out people!

  115. I have made this for years but like the newer poems to go with it. I have made them using Dam it and also Darn it for those who don’t like to say dam it!! They both work on releasing some stress

  116. I made this doll and brought it to work. I got 5 orders right away. Now my friends are selling them for me all over the world. Thanks :))

  117. i’ve had one of these since i was little. i personally think they are absolutely hilarious!

  118. I think its a good ida

  119. GREAT IDEA! better than going psycho at REAL people, and how is “dammit doll” offensive? what world do you live in?!

  120. I love it. I think I am ready to many cry babies on here. Cry yourself a river build yourself a bridge and get over it.

  121. My fiance works with children from abusive homes. He’s going to take this idea and make them for the children. They can take their anger towards their parents out on the doll, rather than another person or getting into trouble with the law.

  122. they look wierd.

  123. I love this craft! And It’s funny too! I have a really EVIL friend and when I give it too her she will love it!

  124. Love the idea! =) It’s a simple matter to change the name/poem if you dislike it, and you can embellish them as you please. 🙂

  125. “The majority of goths worship satan, Missionary Kid”

And just where are you getting your information? Have you done a study of people who identify with ‘Goth’ interests, regarding their religious preferences? Good grief. Judge not, lest ye be judged!

  126. I like it. Everyone has one of those days. LOL

  127. Excellent. If offended LEAVE the site. Dammit is a tame word mate, you have to be a narrow minded person to get upset at that.
Make a different shape, use yr own poem. I plan on makin heaps, wonder if I can make it into a voodoo doll??

  128. cute and funny

  129. i love this dammit dalls

  130. I like the whole idea about the doll but can you please change the name!!

  131. Treat others as you would want to be treated yourselfs, well duh, but hello people, THIS IS A DOLL, the reason you make it is for stress. and by the way The majority of goths worship satan,

    Missionary Kid

  132. KewL!

  133. Its okay I guess. Nice peoms though!

  134. my dads gona need the road rage dammit doll!

  135. omg

  136. I think they are adorable! It’s so sad that some people weren’t given a sense of humor. That kinda ticks me off, Where’s my dammit doll!

  137. I have to say, I enjoyed the comments more than the craftt.altho, i like the craft too!LOL

  138. ha ha ha cute name. Dammit Doll

  139. it is funny how people can somehow waiste their times B**ing about such non sence in this world. The world would be a better place if some of us just learned to shut our trap! now if this doll some how doesnt suit you
    there are MORE SITES!

  140. Very funny. I had more fun reading the comments. I can’t believe how uptight some people are. Good Grief People, dammit offends you. Gosh you better NEVER leave your house!

  141. Love it!

  142. sorry but this is violent and instead of using up your money to buy the matirials cant you just scream into a pillow or something?

  143. OMG i’m going to need one if people dont stop h8ing all the gr8 projects didnt you people ever hear if you dont have anything nice 2 say dont say anything any way its better than punching ur boss in the face if the bad languiege offends u chang it 2 darn

    sweet idea!=3

  145. Anyone with a sense of hunor will love this! Anyone….else… boring.. will hate it! I LOVE IT!

  146. Looks like a person? Get out of town! Looks more like a gingerbread man or something like that. Not a real person. I’m 57, a wife, mother, and nana and this year have been through (pardon me) h _ ll and back! Could have used one of these.

  147. CraftBits (Shellie Wilson) says

Feel free to update the poems as you wish. We are so busy making crafts to inspire our readers,we don’t have time to worry about grammar, sorry. Glad you liked it.

  148. The project is amusing, although the poems are quite poorly written… Is it possible to get this updated with poems of correct rhyme and meter?

  149. This is too funny! And perfect for my office, can’t wait to try.

  150. Great idea! It caused the 14-yr-old skaterboy crowd to actually be amused in public for several hours! They named them after everyone that they were unhappy with recently. After awhile they were all laughing & no longer mad at anyone!

  151. ugly little things

  152. It’s the same concept as those squeeze stress dolls where the eyes pop out. In my opinion, this is less negative, and more meaningful, since it would be hand made.

  153. This is NOT negative, It’s about finding a non-harmful way of letting your anger out. I doubt that anyone who thought anything like that is even worth a response.

  154. Love this!! A few people I know wil be getting them for christmas!!

  155. It is almost amusing to see all those “offended” by the word dammit, when a walk in the average WalMart these days will turn the air blue with the language of the shoppers, both adults, teens and some kids! Change dammit to dang-it already. It is cute!

  156. I had this pattern many years ago and lost it and the poem. Anyone who thinks this is goth had slipped a cog. We all need to vent now and again.

  157. you guys find this…”a wonderful idea”? wow…

  158. mystweaver says

Wow I have a g-son that could use this.
Hey you people who have nothing better to do that whine need to go elsewhere. You can change colors, words or just don’t make it.

  159. excellent idea

  160. My husband bought me one at a garage sale and I love!!!

  161. I love the idea. If people don’t like the word, call it a “Frustration doll” instead. When it’s made, whatever you call it, just have to make sure the seams are done well. Don’t want stuffing all over the place…lol

  162. cool

  163. I personly don’t like it at all cause’ it’s sooooo negitve but still luv website

  164. I am loving this idea! and you can adjust it by cutting it out with pinking shears, stitch it inside out up to the head, turn, stuff and stitch around the top of the head to make the appear to have spiked hair. Very Cute!

  165. I think this is a great Idea, going to make one for everyone in our office this, so when they get upset with the computer, or with clients only after they leave the office they can bang their doll on the desk.

  166. OMG OMG such a great idea!!!!

…lol! you made me laugh so hard, seriously!!! so funny!

  167. Great job!!!!!!!!

  168. LOVE THIS IDEA!

  169. This is a horrable craft idea. My daughter and I chose your site as an uplifting way to spend time together and this has completley turned me off I will now UNsubscribe

  170. All those angry people seem like they are in need of a dammit doll.
Sheesh, this is a great idea.
If you don’t like it, then come up with a better one yourself. 🙂

  171. that’s cute

  172. ‘goth people’? Goth is a subculture, you idiot. Just because we dress differently doesn’t mean we worship satan There are many religious goths(including athiests and wiccans) and even christian goths! (www.christiangoth.com)

Oh, and I love this idea!

  173. omg i luv this idea! i made one for my guy friend, and he loved it soooo much! he gave me a kiss on the cheek as a return gift:P

  174. I think it’s really funny! I just made one for my boyfriend. He (the doll) is green with purple short…. I named him smacky

  175. this is so fun to make

  176. This is NOT your spouse or a child. It is a stuffing filled stress reliever.I once met an 80+ yr.old CHRISTIAN made these dolls. If YOU are offended by “dammit”,say darn it, dang it,or nothing at all. It’s a joke! GET OVER YOURSELF PEOPLE!DUH!

  177. I can’t wait to make SEVERAL!! Those who don’t see the humor in this take themselves far too seriously.

  178. Love it !

  179. cute ideal if people don’t like the words then don’t make the doll

  180. a sick idea

  181. people that think this doll is vulgar and stupid need to realize that having a child take their frustrations out on a doll is much better than having a child act out or hurt someone or something. the people who think they’re ugly have no creativity…gosh

  182. what the foo are these things… wierd!!!

  183. I LOVE this!

  184. i love this ideas, i have made them for all of my friends birthdays

  185. What a gr8 idea. Having recently discovered ur site it has been gr8 for Fathers/mothers day stalls.Well done to all. For those who don’t like this idea don’t worry they probably don’t like much else in life either. Cheers Klarry

  186. Ok,I have had enough of everybody bashing this idea saying “it’s a doll, it doesn’t seem right throwing a doll”. How else are you going to get rid of your stress?! You have to take it out on something at some point!!!!

  187. i love art says

I LOVE this idea! what a great way to relieve stress!!!!! but I have to say…To all the people who think “dammit” is a bad word, I would most appreciate it if you would stop going on about it, just CHANGE THE WORDDS.

  188. love this one will make a bunch and give them to everyone lol

  189. Really cute! What a terrific gift!

  190. How hilarious! Just to choose who to make the first one for….

  191. LOVE IT! What a fantastic idea. So very cute, Can’t believe how uptight some people are.

  192. blue_cow27 says

I absolutely LOVE this idea! The poems are so funny! I might make one for my boyfriend. Those people who think this idea is offensive, it’s the same thing as a stress ball. If you don’t like the word “Dammit” use a different word!

  193. Lost Hollow says

    What a great idea!

  194. lucybug33 says

very funny. i need a lot for all my coworkers

  195. I would like sayings for teachers, lab tecks, nurses Im not very good at that.Thank you

  196. iam making one for my friend when she is angry she takes it out on her self

  197. LOL! So funny! I’m going to make one for menopause for me and some friends.

  198. This is what’s wrong with the world today.no humor If you have the time to worry about a little stuffed doll then you should be out in the world doing something that will make all this hate go away.SAD SAD PEOPLE

  199. those poems are hularious

  200. I made a drawing of a doll figure, and placed typed words having to do with a woman’s problems. It turned out so cute, and I’ve given them to many lady friends. I had written such:
sagging chin, vericose veins, sagging boobs, wrinkles, etc.

  201. LMAO, too violent? Would you rather have someone take out their anger on an actual human? And really, stress balls have happy faces on them ” OMFG. it’s too disturbing! That ball has emotions!”
Get a life, Instead of complaining about one craft.

  202. this is fantastic, in an age of emotional repression this is a wonderful way to teach that its ok to be mad,x-press it & no1 gets hurt, if ya don’t like the shape u can always change it and make up words to use. grate for kids from abusive backrounds.

  203. very cute idea. i plan on making many

  204. i ABSOLUTLY love this idea! imm making one for my apperal class. 🙂

  205. wow- who knew a sewing project could be so controversial. If you don’t like it, skip it. Lighten up! Since when is Dammit such a bad word- they can turn on the tv and hear far worse.

  206. Wow-what an awful idea.

  207. Funny!!

  208. Brilliant. Am going to make these for my colleagues…just what we need to de-stress the day away!!! thanx

  209. So funny! I made a few of these for my mom because she gets so mad at my dad sometimes so i made one that looks like him and she had a laughing fit! cute idea!

  210. Personally i think this is a brill idea. Pepl get stressed, it’s a fact of life, so if you need to take it out on something, do so on someTHING instead of someONE!
It seems idiotic to me that people are arguing over a craft project…
    it’s a doll…

  211. needs more color

  212. i dont like your idea.i dont know why other thinks its a great idea. its ugly and its a bad influence for children. remove it from the site.

  213. I’m confused. If this is meant for stress then shouldn’t it be durable? As is, it looks like the plain ol’ rag doll I made when I was five. Mine was hydrocephalic with disproportionate arms, but I feel that makes it more interesting than these.

  214. I have a friend of mine that is stressed out all the time. I think this would work perfectly for him. (Normally he uses his drumset to lessen the stress.)

  215. If ya don’t like the curse words change it to DANG IT – DANG IT – DANG IT. There ya go.

  216. This idea is stupid I as a kid go on this website all of the time and if my little sister was around and learned such language she would get it to much, much troble the poem was cute but not so good for little kids to hear or read CHANGE IT

  217. what an adorable idea !!!

  218. I’m totally down with finding non-destructive ways to take out stress…but why would I want to do that on something that looks like a person? The idea disturbs me.

  219. IT’S GREAT

  220. This is fantastic, i am going to make one to send to my riend overseas.

I think the poem is fantastic too!

  221. No kidding! this is hoolarious!

  222. LAUGHED MY BRAINS OFF!!!

  223. very simple and easy to make en masse as gifts

  224. I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Work As a human service rep at a law firm and i have 2 dammit dolls i love them i need them to deal with my day! Im proud to be a christian as well but i dont think god frowns on squeezing fuzz and cloth chill out!!

  225. Can’t wait to make this! I’m gonna make one, no several right away!

  226. COOL! so cute.. cant bare 2 whack it. ;]

  227. I love this project and am making them for my family this christmas, however, being the crafty devil that I am I have written a different poem for everyone to fit their personality! Maybe everyone that dislikes this poem should try that!

  228. love this! what a perfect work, family gift exchange!

  229. This little guy(or gal) is so cute!

  230. This doll is fun to make and really DOES relieve stress!!

  231. Can’t wait to make some for stressed out friends. For those of you who find them violent or offensive …. GET A GRIP!! It’s a fun way of releasing stress and getting a chuckle at the same time. Don’t be so serious…sheesh!!

  232. I agree with Paganbaby. Don’t you guys have anything better to do than to deflate someones obviously great ideas?!?

  233. I think the name is inaproprate

  234. Proud2BCatholic says

This doll may not be to everyone’s taste, Paganbaby. However your comment is extremely offensive. Other than your last sentence there is nothing relevant in your post. Would the moderators kindly edit your comment to be more respectful? Thank you.

  235. I love this idea! My hubby is a network manager….enough said this will be great gifts for everybody in every department from the computer geek himself

  236. OMFG do not make any negative opinionated comments about anything on here if you can’t have the courage to create an actual account. I’m sure that those of you who made those childish posts are the targets of most peoples dammit dolls. LOVE THE IDEA!!!

  237. katieislivinlfe12 says

omg i l-u-v this imm gonna make one for my mom for x-mas 🙂

  238. Good idea. How about sewing arms and legs seperate and sticking them onto body with velcro then you can tear the doll to pieces

  239. I had one like this before. She helped me alot and I need a new one. Thanx.

  240. This is too funny!!! Hilarious!!!

  241. This is FANTISTIC. I do volunteer work at a hospital with senior citizens . This is a MUST for their craft project, and they will love it. What a great idea!8298

  242. I love this idea I know a few people that are going to get this for Christmas!!!!!!

  243. Love the idea, it’s hard to find those stressballs anymore without spending a lot of money, and I’m sure everyone (even those on here who are “offended”) have hit or said something out of fustration, it’s just something that happens. You can change it up!

  244. This is offensive!

  245. I like how people are trying to insult this. It’s just a DAMN doll. My GRANDMA made these. It’s the same as punching a pillow if you get annoyed. If anyone is offended by profanity they should leave the internet NOW.

  246. How can you find such a silly thing offensive? Get a life! This is a very cute and harmless joke. I’m going to make it for sure.

  247. Perfect! Love it…

  248. I have transfer paper, and I printed out the poem and put it on the doll’s chest. I also use extra yarn from my sewing project to stich on features and hair. Much fun is had by all!

  249. It’s a cute idea. It’s just too bad that some of the previous posters here don’t have a sense of humor.

  250. 🙂

  251. Lucky Bear says

I LOVE IT! A fantastic idea – I know of several people who would really appreciate one of these cuties!

  252. ha ha! *stubs toe* “DAMMIT!” *slams doll against keyboard*

  253. Maybe it would be better to call it a Dammit Dummy instead of doll. I like dolls.

  254. Aw, I like them. I think they’re cute. I wouldn’t use it though. :/ It would make me feel bad. I still like the idea though. :3

    <3

  255. I think this is an adoreable project and a great idea! Also, a wonderful way to teach people to sew.

I just wanted to point out that everyone who is bashing the idea is doing so anonymously, logged in as a Guest. Cowards.

  256. very violent and offensive. Hate this project, love the idea of calling them whacko dolls, though. But still hate the idea of violently smashing them and using dirty language. Disgusting. Get a life whomever came up with these idiotic, dirty dolls.

  257. These are great. I plan to make them out of old ties and give em to the girls for there computers and to the guys for their golf bags! Thanks 🙂

  258. Stitches says

This is so cool! I even made clothes and stuff for mine! 😛

  259. Great Gift For Nurses Week—Of course we dressed them like Doctors

  260. i think my dammit doll looks a lot like maryle streep, which i find really sad bc she’s a nice lady and every time i throw it and yell, “dammit, dammit, dammit” i have an intense feeling or guilt becuase i would never throw maryle streep across the room

  261. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. Promoting profanity and violence. I don’t like it at all.

  262. Horrible idea. Seems like wishing to hurt a child.

  263. CraftBits (Shellie Wilson) says

Great to see everyone enjoying this project.

  264. SweetTupelo says

This is hilarious! Just made one for my friend who had a very bad day! Thanks!

  265. This craft is offensive to me and my child, by its title and concept. I am disappointed it is included in an otherwise good site appropriate for all ages and backgrounds. The craft is fun promoted a different way.

  266. i love the dammit doll pattern

  267. raelynsmom says

I can’t wait to make one. Love the idea!

  268. Brilliant idea :o)
I know many people who could use one LOL

  269. This is hallarious! I would make one if i only knew how to sew. And the ppl who said that this idea are very closed-minded. Maby i can learn how to make a life sized one!!! hehehe

  270. craftysiany says

i think these are an excellent idea, and i think they would sell well at charity events!!

  271. i think this is an excellent idea, and would sell well at charity events!!

  272. I’m fourteen and I have three siblings who make me mad. This doll will work. It’s very funny! I’m going to make a knitted version of this, since I broke my needles that go to my sewing machi. xD Craft on!

  275. I love the dammit doll. Came in handy when my now ex hubby divorced me after 38 years of marriage for a dame he met in a chat room.

Glad he did, I was married this January to a man I’d known since high school days.

    YEEHAW, BLESS THE DAMMIT DOLL.

  276. i love the poems… HILARIOUS. i can’t wait to make this project!

  277. I love it. Perfect for my nurses that take care of me.

  278. how can you watch your own creation being damaged? Use a stressball, goddamit!

  279. Stitches says

This is awesome! It seems really easy.

  280. I think that this is a brilliant idea especially for where I am at where stress and anger are commonplace.

  281. perfect:)!

  282. My 10 yr old niece is just learning to sew. This would be a great learning tool since she wants to start making her own dolls. We’ll leave the dammit poems out tho’. Cute idea. Thank you.

  283. I’m just starting to sew, so this would be a perfect project for me. Besides, a great gift idea when I’m too poor to afford a 20 dollar gift.

  284. I love it!Its just the thing I need when im mad!

  285. I have been making this type of doll for years, but we call them Whacko dolls my 4 year old said people shouldn’t say damn aound children but could say Whacko!!

  286. My sister made me one and it was the talk of the office as we tossed it to one another to use. Sure eliminated some of our frustrations. It’s been so much fun having it.

  294. they were ugly and scary

  295. I love this, you made me Laugh!!! I plan to make several as gifts!!! GREAT idea!!!!

  305. It’s brill i want more ideas like this!

  306. Great idea for stressed or angry people. I like the idea, but I’d feel strangely guilty for beeting up a doll- I’m one of those people who feels bad getting rid of a stuffed animal. My little brother loves the idea too.

  307. I made a couple of these for the people I work with and they love them! The poem is awesome.

  308. many kudos for the poem.

  309. I would love to make one of these that looks like my ex mother-in-law. Every time she calls me and just sits on my phone saying nothing I would love to just stomp on it, since it is against the law for me to do that to her.

  310. having a hard time printing the doll pattern. It just prints the top of the face.

  311. liked the idea and the pattern.i just can’t get the pattern to print properly. can you help. thanks
    susan

  312. As a teacher, every once in a while I have one of those days where all I do is yell when I get home. This doll will help my stress levels immensely. And my family will be happier, too. =)

  317. Fantastic, I am gonna make one for everyone I know.

  318. Goth and devil worshipers?!?!? Promotes domestic violence?!?! Get real, it’s a doll!!
    Great gift idea!

  319. This is awesome. No more holes in the wall. Hey, maybe it would put an end to some domestic violence?! That could be totally cool.

  320. very easy and interesting to do. i think it is suitable for beginners.

  321. I’ll have to mke a mini damn it doll to take to work with me. On weeknds my cashier job at the local resturant can be sooo STRESSFUL! I think this might help! =3

  322. Histarical! I think that this craft will be VERY helpful to many people.

  323. That’s pretty cool I guess!!

  337. I love this idea, and have made several for friends and family.

  338. it u put a smlie on it it will be even more fun for the person

  339. made me laugh in the middle of a trying day

  340. If you cut out your doll with pinking shears, you don’t have to turn it – just fill and stitch opening. Gives doll a frazzled look. Do not glue opening or hair – stitching is sturdier for the abuse it will get.

  341. Love it.. Great gift for my father
