Adrenal Fatigue Rescue Balm – A Soothing DIY for Stress & Burnout Relief

Adrenal Fatigue Rescue Balm – A Soothing DIY for Stress & Burnout Relief

If your “get up and go” has got up and gone, this homemade balm might just be your new best friend.
For many of us, especially women over 40 juggling hormones, households, and everything in between, adrenal fatigue doesn’t feel like a buzzword—it feels like Tuesday. That tired-but-wired sensation, the crash around 3 p.m., the sleep that never quite feels like enough… sound familiar?

What you need

2 tbsp shea butter (nourishing, anti-inflammatory)

1 tbsp cocoa butter (soothing and rich in antioxidants)

2 tbsp coconut oil (helps balm glide on smoothly)

1 tbsp jojoba oil or sweet almond oil (skin-balancing)

10 drops lavender essential oil (calming)

8 drops rosemary or basil essential oil (mental clarity and adrenal support)

6 drops geranium essential oil (balancing and uplifting)

6 drops frankincense essential oil (restorative and grounding)

Optional: ¼ tsp vitamin E oil (preserves shelf life)

Instructions

How to Make It

  1. Melt the butters and oils
In a small double boiler or heatproof glass bowl over a saucepan, melt shea butter, cocoa butter, and coconut oil on low heat. Stir gently until combined.
  2. Cool slightly and add essential oils
Remove from heat. Let it cool slightly (so it doesn’t destroy the potency of your essential oils), then stir in jojoba oil, essential oils, and vitamin E.
  3. Pour into container
Pour into a clean jar or metal tin and let it set at room temperature, or pop it in the fridge to speed things up.
  4. Label and use
Apply a small amount to your lower back (where your adrenals sit), wrists, or soles of the feet daily—especially in the morning and evening.

Self-Care Tip:

Use this balm as part of a wind-down ritual—think dim lighting, a warm herbal tea, and five deep belly breaths while you massage the balm into your skin.
