What you need

• Worsted weight yarn in:

  • Red (bodice/top)

  • Green (skirt)

  • Brown (hair)

  • Cream (face, arms, hands)

  • White (collar, sleeve cuffs)

• Crochet hooks size G (4mm) and I (5.5mm)

• Stuffing

• Safety eyes or small beads

• Felt for mouth (optional)

• Ribbon bows in red (for hair)

• Cardstock (for wings)

• Gold or silver paint/glitter for wings (optional)

• Craft glue or hot glue gun

• Toilet roll to fit under cover

Head and Body (G hook)

Note: Do not join rounds; mark the beginning of each round.

With cream yarn:
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 8 sc in first ch (8)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (16)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (24)
Rnd 4–9: Sc in each sc around (24)
Rnd 10: (Sc in next sc, dec over next 2 sc) around (16)
Rnd 11: (Dec over next 2 sc) around (8)
Rnd 12–13: Sc in each sc around (8)
Rnd 14: 2 sc in each sc around (16). Sl st in next sc. Finish off.

Switch to red yarn:
Rnd 15: Join red in any sc and working in back loops, ch 1, sc in same place, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (24)
Rnd 16: Working through both loops, sc in each sc around (24)
Rnd 17–22: Repeat rnd 16 (24). Stuff body. Then repeat Rnds 1–3 to make a disc in red. Attach disc to bottom, stitching through back loops of body only.

Arms and Sleeves (G hook)

With cream yarn:
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 8 sc in first ch (8)
Rnd 2: Sc in each sc (8)
Rnd 3–10: Sc in each sc (8)

Switch to red yarn:
Rnd 11: Ch 1, sc in same place twice, 3 sc in each sc around (24)
Rnd 12–16: Sc in each sc around. Finish off, stuff arm, lightly stuff sleeve, and gather to close.

Collar (G hook)

With white yarn:
Rnd 1: In free loop round neck, join yarn, ch 1, sc in same place, (ch 3, sc in next sc) around, ending with ch 2, hdc in first sc.
Rnd 2: (Ch 3, sc in next sc) around. Finish off.

Skirt (I hook)

With green yarn:
Rnd 1: Holding doll upside down, attach yarn to any front loop of bodice. Ch 4, dc in same place, (dc in next sc, ch 1, dc in same sc) around. Join to 3rd ch of ch 4.
Rnd 2–9 (or desired length to cover roll): Sl st into ch 1 space, ch 4, dc in same space, (dc in next ch 1 space, ch 1, dc in same space) around. Finish off.

Hair & Face

• Attach safety eyes between Rnds 7–8 of the head.

• Embroider or glue on felt mouth.

• For hair: Cut 6–8 strands of brown yarn (6″ each). Tie together at the middle. Tie red ribbon bows about ½” from the ends for pigtails. Glue to head.

Cardstock Wings

• Cut two symmetrical angel wing shapes from cardstock (each about as tall as the doll’s torso).

• Paint gold or silver and sprinkle glitter while tacky (optional).

• Glue wings together at the center back to form one piece.

• Glue to the back of the doll just above the waistline.

Assembly & Finishing

• Sew arms to the sides of the body.

• Position hair and secure with glue.

• Place the doll over the toilet roll and adjust wings so they sit nicely.
