What you need
yarn: DK weight yarn with a soft sheen such as cotton, bamboo, or rayon blend – approx. 1000 (1150) yards.

Lace Pattern – Horseshoe Stitch
(Multiple of 10 stitches)
Row 1 (RS): K1, *yo, k3, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k3, yo, k1; repeat from * across, end k1.
Row 2 (and all even rows): Purl.
Row 3: K1, *k1, yo, k2, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k2, yo, k2; rep from *, end k1.
Row 5: K1, *k2, yo, k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k3; rep from *, end k1.
Row 7: K1, *k3, yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k4; rep from *, end k1.
Row 8: Purl.
Repeat these 8 rows for pattern.
Back
Using smaller needles, cast on 92 (102) sts.
Work in k1, p1 rib for 2″.
Switch to larger needles and begin lace pattern.
Work even until piece measures about 18″ and finishes after Row 8.
Change to k3, p3 rib and work 4 (5)” more.
Bind off in pattern.
Front
Work same as back until 3 (4)” shorter than back.
Next row (RS): Work across 36 (38) sts, bind off 20 (26) center sts, then work to end of row.
Work both sides at once with separate balls of yarn.
At each neck edge, decrease 1 st every row 10 times.
Work even until front matches back.
Bind off in pattern.
Sleeves
With smaller needles, cast on 82 sts.
Work in k1, p1 rib for 1″.
Switch to larger needles and purl, increasing 10 sts evenly across.
Begin lace pattern and work until sleeve measures about 9″ (ending after Row 8).
Bind off.
Finishing
Sew shoulder seams.
With crochet hook, work one round of single crochet evenly around neckline.
Mark 9½” from each shoulder seam for armhole openings and attach sleeves.
Sew sleeve and side seams.
Weave in all ends neatly on the wrong side.
Tip: This pattern looks beautiful in lightweight cotton ribbon yarn or bamboo blends — try soft lilac, blush, or seashell white for a timeless summer knit.
