Dollar Tree Plastic Tub Hack – Faux Galvanized Tin

This tutorial shows you how to take plastic tubs or buckets from the discount store like Dollar Tree and turn them into faux fake galvanized metal tubs. 

What you need

Plastic tubs
Grey spray paint
Dark grey, white and terracotta paints
Craft Sponge
Optional Marker pen

This tutorial shows you how to take plastic tubs or buckets from the discount store like Dollar Tree and turn them into faux fake galvanized metal tubs.

These plastic tubs are easy to hack and once you start you will find it hard to stop. They come in all different sizes so you can use the same Dollartree Galvinzed hack for different tubs.

You will need a base spray paint of grey to base coat your plastic tubs.

 

Once your tub is dry you will layer the other paints to create the mottled effect.  white and grey work well. You can also add a terracotta paint for some rust.  For best results, I like to use a sponge brush or a painter sponge.

You can finish off your tub with the optional text.
