Step-by-Step: Rose Quartz Melt & Pour Soap
1. Prep Your Colorants
In a small bowl, mix rose clay with a few drops of rubbing alcohol or vegetable glycerin to form a smooth paste. Do the same with the white mica in a separate bowl. This prevents clumping.
2. Melt Your Bases
Cut both soap bases into small cubes. In two separate containers, melt the clear base and the white base in 30-second microwave bursts or using a double boiler, stirring between each. Avoid overheating—melt just until smooth.
3. Add Fragrance and Oils
Add geranium and ylang ylang essential oils (and optional sweet almond oil) into both batches while warm, but not steaming.
4. Color and Swirl
Tint the clear base with the rose clay mixture for a pink quartz tone. Add shimmer to the white base using the white mica. Pour both into your mold in alternating layers, then swirl lightly using a skewer or chopstick to create a marbled, crystal-like effect.
