DIY Pebble Art – Framed Nature Keepsake

DIY Pebble Art – Framed Nature Keepsake

If you’ve ever come home from a walk with your pockets full of pebbles, twigs, or beach finds, this sweet little project is calling your name. This framed pebble art is not only a beautiful way to showcase your natural treasures, but it’s also the kind of craft that looks straight out of a boutique shop—without the boutique price tag.

It’s simple, personal, and best of all—each one turns out unique.

What you need

Small pebbles and twigs (flat and smooth stones work best)

White cardstock or watercolor paper

Hot glue gun or strong craft glue

Scissors

Black photo frame (I used 6×6″)

Optional: pencil for layout planning

Instructions

1. Gather Your Materials

Head outside or rummage through your stash of nature finds. Look for a straight twig to use as the “branch” and small round pebbles that resemble birds or leaves.

2. Create Your Layout

On a sheet of white cardstock, loosely arrange your twig and pebbles to form your scene. A simple branch with two birds is a lovely and symbolic option—perfect for gifting too. Feel free to sketch a guide lightly with pencil.

3. Glue in Place

Once you’re happy with the layout, glue the twig down first, then carefully attach the pebbles on top. Use tweezers if needed for more precise placement. Let everything dry fully before moving on.

4. Frame It

Pop your finished art into a black frame for a chic, modern look that contrasts beautifully with the earthy tones of the stones.

5. Display or Gift

Set it on a shelf, hang it in the hallway, or wrap it up for a heartfelt handmade gift. It’s a timeless keepsake with a modern rustic twist.

Crafty Tip:

No pebbles? You can use buttons, wood slices, or even polymer clay to mimic the look. Try adding hand-lettered words underneath like “Lovebirds,” “Home,” or “Together.”
