The best part? This version leans into the classic Christmas palette with shimmering silver and gold finishes, topped with lush red-and-green polka-dot bows. They’re bold enough to make a statement on your front porch or beside your tree, but still have that handmade charm that says yes, I made this myself.

Instructions
1. Prep the Bowls
Give the bowls a quick wash and dry to remove any dust or residue. If they’re super glossy, lightly sand the surface so the paint sticks better.
2. Paint the Baubles
On a drop cloth, spray your bowls with metallic paint.
- For a solid silver bauble, use two to three light coats of silver spray paint.
- For a gold bauble, repeat with metallic gold spray paint.
Let each coat dry before adding another to avoid drips.
3. Make the Ornament Cap
Cut your wooden dowel to about 3–4 inches long or use a wooden knob.
- Paint the cap to match the bauble or give it a contrasting metallic finish.
- Glue it to the base of the bowl (which will now be the “top” of your ornament).
Let it dry fully before moving on.
4. Create the Bows
- Cut a generous length of glittery green ribbon for the base.
- Layer a slightly shorter length of red polka-dot ribbon on top.
- Form loops for the bow and secure the centre with floral wire or a zip tie.
- Fluff the loops to get a full, perky shape.
5. Attach the Bows
Glue or wire the bows directly onto the ornament cap. Make sure they’re positioned so the tails drape nicely over the bauble.
6. Arrange & Display
Group the baubles in threes for maximum visual impact. Mix silver and gold for contrast, and place them:
- On a mantle with greenery and fairy lights
- By the Christmas tree as oversized “floor ornaments”
- On a covered porch for a festive welcome
If using outside, finish with a coat of clear sealant spray to protect the paint from moisture.
Tips & Variations
- Add small embellishments like mini candy canes, holly sprigs, or jingle bells to the bows for extra detail.
Use patterned metallic paint or glitter spray for a more textured look.

What a super easy idea. But even though the bowls ar cheap enough the glue, ribbon ,dowel, and especially the spray paint( $15 a can where i live), make them too expensive for me to make.
