Fortune Cookie Gift Made Using Felt

Fortune Cookie Gift Made Using Felt

This project idea came to me whilst I was preparing gifts for my friends for Christmas. Make fortune cookies using felt and hide gifts within them for a fun creative idea!

What you need

Cream Colored Felt
Craft Glue
Chinese Take Out Box
Ribbon
Chinese Token or trinket for decoration
Scissors

Instructions

I filled my Felt fortune cookies with earrings but you could fill them with any sort of small item, or even a written token of love or something similar.

Start by cutting your circle out for your fortune cookie. My circle was about 2 inch (5 cm) in size. But your cookie can be as big or small as you need it to be.

DIY-Fortune-Cookie-Step-1

Run glue along cut felt circle

Run a bead of glue around the edge of the circle and press it into half, leaving the ends open.

Put your item inside the open ends and close it up.

Close the felt circle

Close up the circle

Place your finger into the middle and bend the cookie around your finger giving it the traditional fortune cookie shape.

Hide the gift inside the fortune cookie

To finish the cookies, place them into a Chinese take away box and decorate it up.

  18. I think it’s a good idea and very cute! Many times I’ll usually comment & “rate a gift” if it’s something that I WOULD LIKE to receive. Perhaps, though, that’s not a good idea because what I like, doesn’t necessarily mean a friend will like it!

  19. What a great idea! I’m going to make some of these for Xmas or great for an engagement ring,
and fill the rest with candy or chocolates. r.b.

My circle was 5cm , 2 inch in size

  34. How big of a circle do you use typically?

  35. that is a really cool idea. i will definatily try this!!!

  36. that would distroy the cookie. ive seen versions where you sew it, put a stich to make it fold, but leave a space open where the cookie stays intact and you can get the item out. ive made this version and there seems to be no size issue.
