Christmas Bauble Wreath Tutorial

Christmas Bauble Wreath Tutorial

If you're anything like me, you're already itching to bring out the tinsel and peppermint vibes long before December rolls around. And what better way to celebrate Christmas in July than with a cheerful, candy-colored wreath that looks good enough to eat? This adorable bauble wreath is made almost entirely from Dollar Tree finds (hello, budget-friendly magic!) and features a sweet gingerbread sign from Temu that totally steals the show. I whipped this up using a 14" wire wreath form, a mix of red, green, and white ornaments in all the shiny, glittery finishes, and a sparkly garland I had stashed from last year's post-holiday sales. The result? A wreath that’s whimsical, bright, and ready to spread holiday cheer, no matter what the calendar says.

What you need

14″ wire wreath form (Dollar Tree)

Assorted ornaments in red, green, and white (variety of matte, shiny, glittered, and patterned – all Dollar Tree)

8″x8″ holiday sign (Temu)

Green tinsel garland (or color of your choice)

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Floral wire or zip ties (optional for extra security)

Pipe cleaners (optional for attaching the center sign)

Wire cutters or heavy scissors

Instructions

1. Prep Your Ornaments

Before gluing anything down, remove the hanging caps from your ornaments so they sit flat. You can hot glue the caps in place if they feel loose. This step prevents them from popping off once the wreath is hung.

2. Wrap the Wire Wreath Form

Take your garland and begin wrapping it tightly around the entire wire wreath form. This gives your base a fluffy, festive backdrop and hides the wire. Secure the ends with hot glue or tuck them into the garland.

3. Create Your Ornament Layers

Start by gluing the largest ornaments directly onto the wreath form in a circular pattern. Alternate colors and finishes (matte, shiny, glitter) for a nice balance. This is your base layer.

Once the first layer is down, start layering medium and smaller-sized ornaments in between and on top to create fullness and depth. Don’t forget to turn the wreath around as you go to make sure everything looks balanced from all angles.

Pro Tip: You can angle some ornaments inward and outward to add dimension.

4. Add the Center Sign

Use pipe cleaners, floral wire, or hot glue to attach the 8×8″ sign to the center of the wreath. If the sign is light, hot glue will hold well. If it’s a bit heavier, secure it with pipe cleaners tied through the back and looped onto the wire frame.

Center it nicely and press firmly until secure.

5. Fill in the Gaps

Once your sign is in place, take smaller ornaments (or glittery filler balls like the peppermint ones you used) and glue them into any bare spots. This really helps make the wreath look lush and polished.

You can also tuck in some mini bells, berry picks, or faux holly for extra flair.

6. Hang and Enjoy!

Loop a ribbon or wreath hanger around the top and hang it proudly on your door. It’s lightweight enough for a standard over-the-door hook.

Tips:

  • Use shatterproof ornaments, especially if your wreath will be exposed to kids, pets, or curious delivery drivers.
  • Stick with a consistent color theme to keep the wreath looking cohesive. Red, green, and white always bring that classic charm.
  • Store it carefully—this one’s too cute to only bring out in December!
