Christmas Cookie Garland

Christmas Cookie Garland

The kids will love to help you with creating your own cookie garland for Christmas!

What you need

Ginger cookie recipe or other yummy recipe
Ribbon

Instructions

Use your cookie recipe to make up a batch of cookies.

Use a cookie cutter to cut out your shapes but before baking make two holes near the top of the cookies.

Use a tooth pick or skewer to make the holes and make sure the hole is big enough so that you can get the ribbon through.

Continue to bake cookies as directed on your recipe and allow them to cool.

To create the garland thread the cookies onto the ribbon.

Push the ribbon through the first hole from the back of the cookie and then push it back through the second hole.

By using two holes we are keeping the cookie straight on the garland. Once you have threaded them all on, tie the ribbon off with a knot.

Hang up across a room or on your tree.

  6. CraftBits (Shellie Wilson) says

To make it a permanent decoration I would suggest using the Baking Dough Recipe for the garland. You can find it in the free projects area.

  7. 1 thing to keep in mind, cookie expands when it cooks so make hole big enough! Also, I saw the faux bread recipe, could u put spray varnish on this also so it can be used year after year?

  8. cool!! fun to do with the kids……..
