Upside Down Cake

Here is a recipe for an upside-down cake. You can make it for yourself or give it as a gift in a mug.

What you need

1 1/2- 2 cups sized Mug
Recipe ingredients as shown below
Card for making tags
Zip Lock Bags


Put these Ingredients in a mug (if giving as a gift):

1/3 cup of flour
3/4 tsp of baking powder
3 tbs of sugar
1 tbs of dessicated coconut
4 oz/120 g can of diced pineapple pieces.

Mix the dry ingredients together and place into a airtight bag and place into the mug, top the mug off with the small can of pineapples. (yes still in the can do not open it).

Attach these instructions (or follow them if making for yourself)

2 1/2 tbs of shortening
1 egg
3 tbs of milk
1/2 tsp of vanilla
1/2 tbs of melted butter
1 tbs of brown sugar
4 maraschino cherries

Preheat oven to 350’F or 165’C

In a small bowl add the ingredients from the mug and using your fingers mix in the shortening.

Add the egg, milk and vanilla and mix until well combined.

Place the melted butter and the mug and sprinkle the mug with brown sugar.

Place the cherries and the drained pineapple into the bottom of the mug.

Pour the cake batter over the pineapple bake in an oven for 15-20 minutes.
