This sewing pattern shows you how to make a Time out doll who has his or head down in the naught corner. You can recycle old kids clothes to make a sentimental time out doll for Grandma or Grandpa.
What you need
footed pajama sleeper
hat or fake hair
marker ect to decorate.
Get a outfit and matching shoes ( I check the local DI , thrift stores, or clearance racks.)
The size should be about 18 months to 24 months, get a footed pajama sleeper as well.
Take your batting and start stuffing the foot of the sleepers, you want them to be kind of firm, put a dab of hot glue, on the end of one dowel and place it in the stuffing, make sure you cut the dowel to about the hip area of the pajamas. Continue stuffing the legs, and body till you get to the neck.
Now take the nylon, and stuff it round, ( some people use a ball, or styro foam instead. ) tie this together you only need the foot of the nylon. ( DO not throw the other part away there are other things you can do with them) glue the head to the body, you can also pin it but the glue holds it better. for those of you that like to sew you can even sew it to the body… now put the outfit on.
You now want to either add the yarn, fake hair or just a hat you can add a basket, for a girl, toys in pockets, small fishing rod, worms, animals etc for either as well.
I then take the hands and glue them together so they are folded (so they lean better in the corner) but you can leave them down or put them in the pockets as well.
If you want to decorate the face, googly eyes, marker, etc. I have also used doll heads from the craft store, but they can be pricey. So this is a cheap unique gift. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them.
They will now stand in a corner or against a wall, move there leg dowels around some to make them the way you want them. They should look “real”. I get tons of compliments on mine, you can make these as simple or exciting as you want. You can add a wagon, a trike, bench, chairs, etc, to yours.
