What you need
Yarn (medium/size 4): ~30 yds red, ~15 yds black, ~5 yds gold/yellow

Abbreviations (US)
- ch = chain
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
Gauge
After completing round 3 of the base, work should measure about 4” across.
Pattern Notes
- The cozy is worked bottom-up in continuous rounds (no turning).
- Ch at start of rounds does not count as a stitch.
- Always work into the first st (the one joined to the chain).
- Color changes: finish the final yarn-over of the last stitch with the new color.
The Cozy
Base – with red yarn
Rnd 1: Ch 2, work 10 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st. (10 sts)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around. Join. (20 sts)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (30 sts)
→ Your circle should measure about 4” across.
Sides – body of jar
Rnd 4: Ch 1, working in back loops only, hdc in each st around. Join. (30 sts)
Rnd 5-8: Ch 1, hdc in each st around. Join. (30 sts)
Belt band
Rnd 9: Switch to black. Ch 1, hdc in each st around. Join. (30 sts)
Rnd 10: Ch 1, hdc in each st around. Join. (30 sts)
Upper body
Rnd 11: Change back to red. Ch 1, hdc in each st around. Join. (30 sts)
Rnd 12-13: Repeat rnd 11. (30 sts)
Trim
Rnd 14: Switch to fluffy white yarn. Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join. (30 sts)

The Belt Buckle
With yellow/gold yarn and smaller hook (G/6):
Ch 12, join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around. Join. (12 sts)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 sts, 3 sc in next st; repeat from * around to form corners. Join.
→ You should now have a square-ish buckle. Fasten off, leaving tail for sewing.
Position buckle over the black “belt” section and stitch it into place.
Pop your jar inside, smooth the cozy up around it, and you’re ready to fill with treats, goodies, or even a candle for a glowing Christmas decoration.
