What you need

Bring timeless elegance to your handmade wardrobe with this beautiful Ridge Knitted Blouse, originally featured in Spool Cotton’s “Cotton Fashions for Crochet and Knitting,” No. 38. With its flattering ribbed texture and feminine fit, this 1930s-style blouse is both classic and surprisingly modern.

Worked in crisp cotton yarn, the design features soft ridges created through alternating bands of knit and purl stitches, giving it a sculpted look that flatters the waist and shoulders. The short sleeves, high neckline, and neatly fitted waistband make it perfect for pairing with skirts or high-waisted trousers — a true nod to vintage tailoring.

End with 2 knitted rows.

Right Upper Back

Work over 48 sts, continuing decreases at the armhole edge while keeping the other edge even, until 38 sts remain.

Then decrease at the armhole edge every row for 3 rows.
From armhole edge, bind off 4 sts, work across. At end of next row, decrease 1 st.
Repeat from * to * three more times.
