Spray Bottle
Instructions
This recipe is for a non toxic and natural alternative to harsh chemical cleaners. This recipe shows you how to make a cheap all purpose cleaner using only a few ingredients.
Mix 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup baking soda into 1/2 gallon (2 litres) water.
Add to a spray bottle and use as normal. You can add some lemon peel if you would like a nice citrus smell.
It just makes good common sense.
Wow. Still rerunning the old vinegar and baking soda nonsense.
Dearest Everyone: we need to shake out the cobwebs and remember our high school chemistry. Vinegar is an acid, and as such can be a helpful cleaner, in some situations. It can also disinfect. Baking soda is a base. It’s useful as an abrasive and for removing some stains (but don’t use it on aluminum). Mix the two together and it’s fun to watch the bubbles. What the bubbles indicate is that the acid and base are neutralizing each other. What you end up with is mostly water, and you’ve lost out on the best qualities of each. I know it’s enormously popular on the web to claim that mixing the two is a great cleaner, but it simply isn’t true. We need to spread the word: don’t waste your money mixing the two. Use one or the other, separately.
