Instructions
With just a few simple supplies and a bit of imagination, you can create these charming decorations in no time. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or just looking for a fun weekend project, these teacup gnomes are sure to bring a smile to your face. A big thank you to Chris Marshall for sharing the photo her whimsical teacup gnome with us.
Begin by cutting the sock just above and below the heel, ensuring clean edges. This creates the body of the teacup gnome.
Slide the drinking glass into the toe portion of the sock, ensuring a snug fit, This glass creates the body of the teacup.
Fold the excess fabric inside the top of the glass and secure it with hot glue.
Step 2: Optional – Add Feet.
This photo does not show the feet version.
If desired, cut the remaining half of the sock into two rectangles, each approximately 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide.
Place one plastic shoe decoration on the wrong side of each sock rectangle and secure with hot glue. You can also create shoes or feet, by creating a ball with the left over sock and placing it into place. You could also use cardboard cutout feet or shoes.
Pull the fabric up around the sides of the shoe, glue it in place, and stuff any excess fabric inside for a neat finish.
Step 3: Cut Out The Beard
Lay the faux fur with the backing facing up and trace the outline of a beard shape using a marker or pen.
Carefully cut along the traced outline using sharp scissors, ensuring clean cuts through the backing only otherwise you will cut the length off the fur. The best way is to split the fur hairs and seek out the backing fabric only.
Step 4: Assemble The Gnome
Place the sock-covered glass onto the saucer, optionally securing it with hot glue.
Apply hot glue to the back of the faux fur beard and position it on the front of the glass, slightly below the rim.
Apply hot glue to the center of the teacup’s rim and press the wood knob onto it to secure it in place.
Optional: If feet were added, apply hot glue to the bottom of each shoe decoration and position them on the saucer.
Additional Tips:
Get creative with additional embellishments like hats, scarves, or painted details to personalize your teacup gnomes.

With these simple steps and a touch of creativity, you’ll soon have a whimsical collection of teacup gnomes to adorn your home or gift to friends and family. Enjoy the crafting process and the magical charm these delightful decorations bring!
