What you need
Approx. 30 grams of unflavored gelatin
500 mls of water
Desired food coloring
Selected fragrant or essential oil
Mixing bowl
Instructions
Start by pouring the gelatin powder into a mixing bowl. The weight is not crucial so just get it as close as possible depending on the available packaging in your area.
For those of you who don’t know, gelatin will be in the baking section of your supermarket.
Boil around 200mls of water.
Next stir the boiling water carefully into the gelatin powder until all the gelatin has dissolved. Pour the remainder of the water (300mls) into the bowl and stir through.
Now add your food coloring (a little goes a long way).
Allow it to get to room temperature. Add 10 drops of fragrant or essential oil into the gel. Place it in the refrigerator for several hours till it looks like firm jelly. Once it has set use a fork to mash it up so you are left with chunks of fragrant gel.
To Finish off: Pour a small amount of the gel into the bowl or vase. Keep any unused gel in an airtight container.
Creative Tips: If you want to get really creative, make layers of different colored gel in a tall glass vase. Add 1-2 tbs of salt to act as a preservative if you are making large batches.
Amazing project! Gonna try it myself with my group mates. Hopes it works out fine. Thank you for the idea! 🙂
WOnt the jello melt???

I tried this and it turned out great.Thanks. But the jel left a stain on my vase, and it won’t come off. How can I get the stain out?
Knox gelatin should come out clear enough to put your trinkets in….could you also set it in a pan and cut in to chunks for a different effect ..I’m going to give it a try thank you so much
I just bought some boxes of gelatin and on the way home, I wondered if i can make a jelly air freshner out of it. I Googled and Jackpot! sweet. Thank you so much!!!!
Can I use perfume instead? Can I not use the food coloring? How long will the fragrance last?
is it ok if i don’t put colorings?
OooooOo. I am absolutly in LOVE with this craft. I mean, it smells soooo good. My fav. oil to add is lavender, which makes any space relaxing and oh so inviting!!!!!

I was actually looking for the recipe using liquid potpourri. But this sounds like it might work, too.
I have used the gelatin powder but its not that clear, so what can i do to make it more clear cause i like putting objects in it,so im looking for something please help thanks
for those of you wanting clear looks purchase water gems I located mine in Dollar General candle aisle….no refrigeration needed clear as glass and can use a blender, potato masher, fork etc. to mash into gel if preferred
