Easy Stained Glass Soap Tutorial

Easy Stained Glass Soap Tutorial

This soap-making recipe or tutorial shows you how to take melt and pour soap and create fun chunky confetti soap that looks like stained glass.

What you need

2 lbs glycerin melt and pour soap base

¼ tsp each of purple, orange, blush, blue, and green mica powder

2 oz square soap mold

4” soap mold

Microwave safe spouted measuring cups or dishes

Wooden craft sticks for stirring

Spray bottle with rubbing alcohol

Soap cutter

Instructions

Create festive stained glass soaps by using Holiday shades of red or greens, try blacks and oranges for a fun Halloween themed soap or pastels and pinks for Easter Soap.

Cut the soap base into 1 inch squares.

Place 2-3 squares into the measuring cup and heat on high for 30 seconds. Remove, then stir well. Add in one mica color, then pour into one cavity of the 2 oz soap mold.

Repeat this step with the remaining 4 colors.

Allow soap to set for about 1-2 hours, then remove from the mold.

Use the soap cutter or a knife to cut each of the colored bars up into shapes, about 4-5 pieces per bar.

Place the rest of the cut of soap base into a measuring cup, then heat on high for 30 seconds. Remove, stir, and if not completely melted, heat for an additional 30 seconds.

Pour a very thin layer of soap base into the 4 inch soap mold, just enough to coat the bottom.

Spray with rubbing alcohol.

Arrange a few of the cut pieces of colored soap into the bottom of the mold.

Stir the melted soap base again, and pour a small amount into the mold. Spray with rubbing alcohol.

Repeat steps 9 and 10 until you have filled up the mold.

Allow the soap to set for about 2-3 hours, then unmold and cut into 1 inch bars.
