Tree Ornament – Felt Whimsical Santa

Make a whimsical santa decoration for your Christmas tree. It is so easy to make and we have a pattern as well.

What you need

Felt
Embroidery thread
Needle
Small amount of toy filling or wadding.
Ribbon
Pins
3 buttons

Instructions

For those who do not know how to sew you can use craft glue instead of the needle and thread.

Print off the pattern and cut out all the shapes: Felt Christmas Santa Pattern.

Using some sewing pins, pin the paper pattern to your piece of felt and cut out the shape you need for each ornament (front and back).

Sew the buttons onto the front pattern piece as shown in the picture.

Using the needle and thread sew a blanket stitch around the edges leaving 1-2 inches at the top so you can fill it. Do not remove the thread as you will use it to finish off.

Fill the ornament with a small amount of Toy Filling or Wadding and then sew in the ribbon for hanging the Christmas ornament up. Close up the top of the ornament with the remaining thread in the same blanket stitch style.
