DIY Dog Cleaning Ear Wipes

These ear wipes are made with gentle and safe ingredients for cleaning your dogs ears.

What you need

• 1/2 Cup White Vinegar
• 1/2 Cup Witch Hazel
• Container With Lid (for storing)
• Cotton Pads or Gauze Pads

 

Instructions

While it is important to clean your dog’s ears when needed, over-cleaning may cause irritation in the ear canal​ so make sure you do not over-clean your dog’s ear.  Ears that have a discharge or odour should be reviewed by your vet.

 

Directions:

Step 1: Pour one liquid into the other.

Step 2: Pour mixed liquids into a jar or container.

Step 3: Add pads to liquid and press down so that you can put the lid on to store.

How To Use Wipes:

Step 1: Open the jar and grab a pad.

Step 2: Squeeze excess liquid from the pad back into the jar.

Step 3: Carefully use a pad to wipe inside of the dog’s ear but do not push the pad down into the ear canal. Use the cotton pad wrapped around your index finger to gently wipe the visible part of your dog’s ear canal and outer ear.  This will remove dirt or excess wax

Step 4: Discard the used pad when finished.

Step 5: You can add more pads to the bottom of the stack if there is still liquid in the container.

If your dog’s ears are inflamed or injured, the concentration of vinegar in the water should be decreased or it may sting your dog.

Vinegar has a lot of benefits. It can help to remove the extra wax to decrease ear infection. As the solution is acidic, it will kill a lot of harmful bacteria
