DIY Aromatherapy Shower Blocks

DIY Aromatherapy Shower Blocks

This tutorial shows you how to make shower blocks scented with healing aromatherapy oils and Calendula flowers. These shower blocks make great Christmas gifts for loved ones and teachers.

What you need

1 cup of Bi-carbonate Soda or Baking soda
water
10-15 drops of Essential oils or an Essential oil blend
2tbs Calendula Flowers or Lavender buds (optional)
Plastic mold/ Muffin tray

Instructions

Start by finding a suitable mold. I used an old chocolate tray but you could use a muffin tin, cupcake wrapper, whatever you have on hand.

Mix the Bi-Carbonate of Soda with a little bit of water. Add a teaspoon at a time until your powder is clumpy and mold able.

Crush the Calendula flowers (optional) with your fingers as you mix them into the bi-carb mixture. Finish up by adding your essential oils.

I wanted mine to be quite strong so I added 20 drops of a mood blend.

Spoon and press the mixture into the mold. Press it firmly into the mold and set aside for several hours or overnight until firm.

Pop them out of the mold and store in a dry container. Use by placing the block into the shower tray whilst showering. You can also use these for rubbing on the soles of your feet for a mild abrasive cleanse.

Comments

  1. I don’t get it…what is the shower tray?

  2. It’s a good idea. It sounds more like a bath soak which is also a great idea!
