What you need
Small amount worsted weight yarn (Red or Rose)
Small amount worsted weight yarn (Green)
Size F hook Finishing Materials:
Tapestry needle
Magnets (optional)
Finished Size: Approx. 7 1/2″ long
Gauge: Not important to over all size.
Instructions
Rose Bottom:
(Using Green)
Row 1) Ch 13; hdc in 3rd chain from hook and in each chain across, on last hdc, drop old color and pick up new (Red), starting with a 7″ tail for securing rose later: 12 hdc. Leave old color attached to use later. Fasten off and secure beginning tail.
Rose:
(Using Red or Rose)
Row 1) Ch 4, turn work; trc in same st, 2 trc in each hdc across: 24 trc. Fasten off, secure ending tail. Roll Rose, jelly roll style, (slightly staggered) with right side out (the last side worked is the right side). Secure the Rose by threading tapestry needle with beginning 7″ tail and tacking in place to secure. Fasten off.
Stem & Leaves:
(Using Green) Using attached yarn on Rose Bottom, insert hook in bottom of rose and hook the yarn, pull through; Ch 25, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across.
Slip st in base of rose, ch 1, turn work again, slip st part way down the stem, (use photo as a guide or where desired for leaf placement), ch 6, slip st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next st, (hdc, dc) in next ch, (dc, hdc) in next ch, sc in next ch, slip st in next st on stem, slip st in opposite side of stem, (working down stem) slip st in a few more sts, ch 6, slip st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, (hdc, dc) in next ch, (dc, hdc) in next ch, sc in last ch, slip st in next st on stem.

Finishing:
Rose can be sprayed lightly with water and pinned in place on the preferred work surface using rust proof pins to block. Or magnets can be attached to back of rose and each leaf to use as a fridgie.
