I haven’t done thread crocheting in over 50 years. But, if I read, and re-read, possibly a third time, I can make the rounds work. The issue I have is that my doily is all ruffled. I’m assuming I’ll need to stretch and iron the bejeebers out of it. I’m not using regular crochet thread, but some skirt yarn from my old knitting machine. It’s cl I se to the same size of the thread, but I’m thinking that’s the reason. Any suggestions? Will it be less problematic if I use actual crochet thread?
Can anyone tell me how to read row 18? Confused.
I can’t figure out where or how to join thread after ending the first side. Can anyone help?
What size codes u use? How big was it? Thanks
I used 60g of cotton for hook 3: 50x80cm after starching and stretching.
I also made this with thinner thread and hook 2: came out about 40x20cm – can’r swear on that as I have given away that doily. I crochet rather tight also.
I’m confused as to what to do after Row 33, where exactly do I attach the thread to continue?
Were you able to find out how to join?? I’m at a loss. I cannot figure it out.
Rows 15 and 16 are veeeery confusing, and I found out incorrect in the way you repeat the stitches. I ripped out 4 or 5 times before I finally just looked at the picture and figured out how many times to repeat stitches so that the subsequent rows work! Who wrote this pattern? Very difficult to follow….
What is the dimensions to this doily
What do you all think the skill level on this would be? I’m an expert crocheter but I’ve never made a doily before. However I have made at least 6 baby Christening dresses out of crochet cotton. Those were fairly difficult. lol… would you say this is hard, intermediate, or easy?
Thank you that was fun to make
I cannot figure out how to download the directions or where to go to print the directions. Please help?
Hi Terry,
Just login and you will be able to download and print.
I just figured out row 15! Where it says sh of 2tr, 5 ch, 2tr…
Basically you’re still making a shell in the next shell space but with 5 chains instead of three. I think she was trying to say make a shell of 2 tr, 5 ch, 2 tr.
I’m using American terminology so I would have written (2 dc, chain 5, 2 dc in next shell space)
I hope that makes sense!!
I’ll be sharing my finished picture eventually on my Instagram. Hooked On Serendipity ☺️
Row 15 is a typo, it should be…..R15: *{Sh over sh, 2ch, (in next sh, 2 tr, 5ch, 2tr), 2ch, sh over sh, 2ch,……then continue with the directions that are printed.
I have the same question for row 15 what does sh of 2tr mean. I think this is a type O. I have made this doily before as a gift and loved it so now I am making one for myself. I am sure I will be able to figure out row 15. But I see that this question was asked twice before and no one answers the questions.

Hi! I went on a google search and discovered that she has clarified on her ravelry page… I was confused too.

I just finished the doily, yes there was a few text mistakes in the direction. but nothing that could not be figured out quickly and remedied quickly.
row 15 what does sh of 2tr mean?
Where should the * be in the 17th round?
I’ll add my thank you, as well, for this beautiful pineapple doily. I was tempted many times to purchase it elsewhere and now, here it is for no cost! My 83 yr old mother will also benefit from this, as I will be surprising her with this pattern soon. Thank you so very much from both of us!!!
I love this project and would like to try it. I’m between a beginner & intermediate so would this be too confusing for me?? I’ve made about 10 doilies and love the pineapple pattern!
In row 15 what does sh of 2tr mean. i know that sh means shell but how do you sh of 2 tr?
Thank you thank you thank you for this pattern. I’ve seen it many times for sale and really appreciate that you didn’t charge for it. I LOVE this and the pattern is perfect. Thank you again!!! 🙂
