Looking for a simple Thanksgiving craft for kids? These Thanksgiving Turkey Buckets are a quick and easy Thanksgiving craft for kids of all ages!

These cute Thanksgiving Turkey Buckets are a big success with “kids” of all ages! Anyone, from children to adults, will enjoy making this adorable Thanksgiving project, which only takes a few minutes and a few materials!
With this DIY Turkey Bucket project, you can make a brilliant Thanksgiving fall turkey! This craft kit, with its vivid tail feathers and funny wiggly eyes, is ideal for a Thanksgiving Day craft for daycare or preschool children.

FIRST STEP
Gather all of your supplies. Brown acrylic craft paint should be used to paint the outside of the metal bucket, to speed up time if you are making this in a class setting you can use Brown Krylon Spray Paint it gives great coverage and you can paint the buckets ready to go for small children to decorate.

STEP 2:
Make a triangular beak out of yellow craft felt, a wiggly waddle out of red craft felt, and two turkey feet out of orange craft felt. Using a glue gun and glue sticks, attach two wiggly eyes and felt features to the turkey bucket. If you don’t have any craft felt, you may use colourful paper or sheets of craft foam.

THIRD STEP
With a black marker, write “I am THANKFUL for…” on a tiny mailing tag. Tie a 10″ length of natural jute string around the handle of the turkey pail and finish with a bow. Fill a bucket halfway with crinkled paper shred.

FOURTH STEP
On your work surface, arrange 15 colourful giant craft sticks. With a pencil, write appreciative sayings on craft sticks, then fill in with a permanent black marker. Use the appreciative prompts in the image or create your own depending on what is important to your family.

FINAL STEP
Use the crinkled paper shred to keep all 15 coloured giant craft sticks in place in the Thankful Turkey Bucket. They are transformed into turkey feathers!

Make this compassionate and thankful Turkey Bucket activity with the kids to practice shapes, cutting, coloring, and counting. Make learning about thankfulness and gratitude enjoyable!
