Quick Heat Pack

Quick Heat Pack

This quick heat pack is perfect for holiday emergencies or ideal for kids to make as mother's/father's day gifts for their parents.

What you need

Sock
2 cups of uncooked rice or wheat
Elastic band or hair band
Microwave

Instructions

If you are making these for gifts try using seasonal decorative socks for a fun look. You can get some great socks for Father’s day and make dad a great gift.

Take the clean sock and fill it with rice. Leave enough room to tie a knot in the top of the sock. if you are using a smaller sock then use a rubber band or hair band.

This small heat pack can be used in emergencies whilst travelling.

Heat in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes on high

If your hotel does not have a microwave you can always ask the staff as majority of hotels will either have one in the staff lunch room or in the kitchen.

Being a migraine sufferer I have always been caught out on holiday.

One day whilst in India suffering a bad migraine and neck pain I had this idea. It would have worked perfectly if the electricity had not gone off just as I finished!

  1. My sister loves it. AWESOME

  2. This is a very easy and useful gift for kids to give as Christmas gifts. Be sure to use cotton socks. I thought it would be nice to use the glittery Christmas socks but the microwave burned a hole in it where the knot was tied. I am glad that I decided to try one before having the kids make them. I did let the kids make them out of 100% cotton socks and it really heats up nice and stays warm for a long time.
Of course I had to keep one of these for myself! Thanks for a great idea.
