Jersey Cushion

Here is a pattern for advanced knitters to create: a jersey cushion!

What you need

for left-hand cushion ‘
9 40g. balls of Emu Wash ‘n Wear
Crepe Double Double Knitting
1 pair of 5 1/2mm. (No. 5) knitting
needles
1 cable needle
for right-hand cushion

Instructions

Special abbreviations for this pattern.

Tw.2F. = K. into front of 2nd st. on L.H. needle, then into front of 1st st., and slip both sts. off needle tog.

C.2F.= slip next 2 sts. onto cable needle and leave at front of work, K. next 2 sts. then K.2 sts. from cable needle. C.1B. = slip next st. onto cable needle and leave at back of work, K.l, then K. st. from cable needle.

C.1F. = as C.1B. but leave st. at front of work.

S1.1F. = slip next st. onto cable needle and leave at front of work, P. 1 st. then K. the st. from cable needle. S1.1B. = slip next st. onto cable needle and leave at back of work, K.l st. then P. the st. from cable needle.

These 24 rows form the pattern. Rep. them 3 more times, then rows 1-6 once more. Work 8 rows moss st. Cast off.

BACK

With 5 1/2mm needles cast on 73 sts. and starting with a K. row work in st.st. until work measures 46cm. Cast off.

TO MAKE UP

both cushions –

Press carefully on wrong side of work. Sew together along three sides. Using nine strands of wool, plait a cord long enough to measure along four sides of cushion cover, then sew along edges.

Insert cushion and sew edges of 4th side together.
