Felt Food – Pop Tarts

Felt Food – Pop Tarts

This tutorial shows you how to make pretend faux felt food - perfect for classroom pretend play.

What you need

Cream Felt
Light Pink Felt
Quilt Batting
Ruler
Scissors
Pink Seed Beads
Needle
Thread
Sewing machine

Instructions

Step 1: Cut two 3 1/2-by-5-inch pieces of cream felt, one 3-by-4 1/2-inch piece of pink felt and one 3 1/4-by-4 3/4-inch piece of quilt batting.

Step 2: Sew eight or more seed beads on one side of the pink felt rectangle with needle and thread. Arrange the beads randomly on the rectangle to look like sprinkles.

Step 3: Sew the pink rectangle centered on one side of one of the cream rectangles with an 1/8-inch seam allowance. This gives your pop tart frosting.

Step 4: Put the quilt batting rectangle between the two cream rectangles. Make sure the side of the one cream rectangle with the pink on it is facing out.

Step 5: Sew the stack together with a 1/4-inch seam allowance to complete the pop tart.
