Crochet Granny Square Pillow

Crochet Granny Square Pillow

This Crochet Pattern is to create a Crochet Granny Square Project. A perfect project for beginners to practice their granny crochet skills!

What you need

Materials:
1. Crochet yarn or thread
2. Crochet hook
3. Scissors
4. Pillow case
5. Hot glue gun

This project includes the following stitches (US terms) – double crochet (dc); slip stitch (sl st) and chain (ch).

Instructions

Round-1:
Chain 4 and form a ring. Chain 3 (counting as 1dc) and then work 2 dc into the ring, this is our first cluster of 3dc. Now chain 2 and work 3 dc into the ring again. Repeat *ch2, dc3* until you have four 3dc-clusters. To close round 1 work a slip stitch into the top of the first ch3.
Round-2:
Slip stitch through the top of the chain clusters near hook, bringing hook to the loop between the previous round’s chain clusters. Chain three from hook (counting as 1dc). Work 2 dc into the loop. Chain 2 and work 3 dc into the same loop, this will form the corner of the granny square. Repeat *ch2, dc3* until you have eight 3dc-clusters, 1 pair of 3 dc-cluster on each corner.
Round-3:
Take a different coloured yarn. Slip stitch through the loop between the previous round’s chain clusters. Similarly crochet the corner then chain 2. Work 3 dc into the next loop from round-2. Chain 2 and form corner like we did before. Repeat *ch2, dc3* until you have twelve 3dc-clusters, 1 pair of 3 dc-cluster on each corner and one 3 dc-cluster into the middle loop.
Round-4:
Take a different coloured yarn. Repeat the corner stitch and chain 2 before each 3 dc-cluster to complete your granny square. You can stop once you’re satisfied with the size of the granny square.

Use a different yarn for each round. Do not cut off the yarns from your hook, keep them at the back side of your pattern and single crochet them toward your current loop.

When you’re done crocheting the granny square, tie a slip knot and cut off extra thread. Make the pillow case and attach the granny square pattern on the front side of the pillow case using hot glue.
