Wheelchair Painting

Get participants in a wheelchair to take part in this activity that promotes social interaction and artistic expression.

What you need

Acrylic paints
Large sheets of paper

Instructions

Spread a large sheet of paper or sheet on the floor.

Pour some paint onto the paper then have the participants using wheelchairs run their wheelchairs all over the paper.

Hang the painting on the wall for all to see.

The wheel chairs should clean up with some soapy water.

Objective: Artistic expression, Interaction with wheelchair

  1. Having had many years of experience with our daughter’s power wheelchairs I don’t think paper would do. But a nice painter’s canvas might work just great even though someone might need to straighten it out a time or two as the painting takes shape. Sounds like fun.
