String Painting

String Painting

This project is a great alternative to using paint brushes. It shows you some fun and tactile ways to play with your kids.

What you need

Wool or string
Clothes Peg
Paint
Paper

Instructions

Cut the wool into 30 cm’s lengths and place a clothes peg at one end.

Set up shallow bowls of paint and have the children dip the string into the paint and then press it onto the paper.

It can be pressed onto the paper or dragged and even swirled around.

Great fun for the kids!

Comments

  1. we do it at my daycare but we tie the string on to a thick paintbrush or to a chopstick

  2. We used to do this all the time as kids. I loved it! I never used the clothes pin. It’s more of a sensory activity if they get their fingers dirty anyway.
