St Patrick’s Day Hat Magnet

Make your friends green with envy by crocheting this hat pattern for St. Patrick's Day! Attach a magnet to stick it on your fridge.

What you need

Small amount worsted weight yarn, green
Small amount of worsted weight yarn, gold
Small amount of worsted weight yarn, black
Crochet hook, size F

Finishing Materials:
Magnet
Miniature flowers (optional)
Coins or candy coins (optional)
Glue

Instructions

Hat Brim:

(Using green)

Row 1) Ch 10; sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in last 8 chains; ch 1, turn work: 9 sc.

Row 2) Sc in each sc across: 9 sc. Fasten off, secure ends.

Hat Crown:

(Using green)

Rnd 1) (Working in front loop only); Attach yarn to 3rd sc from end; Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 4 sc; turn work, sc in back loop of same st, working back across crown and in un-worked back loops, sc in next 4 sc (forming pocket); join with a slip st in first sc: 10 sc.

Rnd 2) Ch 1, sc in same st; * sc in next sc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st in first sc: 10 sc.

Rnds 3-5) Repeat round 2. Fasten off, secure ends.

Band: (Using gold) Attach gold yarn to round 1 of hat crown in joining; Ch 8, slip st in opposite side of crown in 5th sc on end (same round). Fasten off, secure ends.

Buckle: (Using black) Attach black yarn to top loop of band chain, to 4th chain, slip st in same st; Ch 1, slip st in top loop of 5th chain, ch 1, slip st in bottom loop of 5th chain (through crown of hat), ch 1, slip st in bottom loop of 4th chain (through crown of hat), ch 1, slip st in 4th chain, top loop. Fasten off, secure ends.

Finishing: Attach magnet to back side of hat and fill the crown with small flowers or coins. Enjoy!
