Knitted Slippers: Bermuda

This Vintage Bermuda Slippers knitting pattern has to be one of the easiest ways to make a pair of knitted slippers.

What you need

4 ply knitting wool
Size 11 (8mm) standard knitting needles

Instructions

This pattern used a triangle to create a well fitted knitted slipper. Not just any slipper but slippers the granny in you will love.

Cast on 3 sts

Row 1: K 1, inc in center st, k 1.

Row 2 and All Even Number Rows: K each st.

Row 3: K 1, inc in each of next 2 sts, k 1.

Row 5: K 1, inc in next st, k 2, inc in next st, k 1.

Row 7: K 1, inc in next st, k across to last 2 sts, inc in next st, k 1.

Row 8: K each st.

Repeat rows 7 and 8 until there are 62 sts, ending with Row 8.

Dec Row: K 1, k 2 tog (a dec), k 56, sl one st, k 1, psso (a dec), k 1.

Next Row: K each st.

Repeat last 2 rows until there are 14 sts on the needle.

Cut a strand of the yarn about 12 inches long and run it through the 14 sts to form the toe. Do not fasten off.

Fold work to triangle shape, sew two edges together for the sole, sew halfway along other two edges this creates the heel made. Fasten off.

Fold un-sewn edges over toward the toe and tack the point over the instep.

  2. have to say that mine came out more like socks! but nice easy pattern for beginners. if i did this again i think i would alter it to use a chunkier wool
