Instructions

Rice paper is fun to cast with as it becomes translucent allowing only the darkest of colors show through.

The key to this project is to choose a rice paper that has pastel shades and white or light colored areas.

Pour your resin into your mold and allow it to settle for around 10-15 mins before pushing in a piece of torn (not cut) rice paper that is of a suitable size.

Use a plastic knife or tweezers to push the paper into the mold making sure you don’t push it to the bottom.

Once set, sand the back of the casting with some fine sandpaper to make it smooth before attaching it to your altered art project, pendant or bracelet.

The bracelet has been made using a resin gem stone created out of resin and adhered to the bracelet using a silicone or super glue.

  4. CraftBits (Shellie Wilson) says

By tearing the paper you eliminate any blunt lines and edges. it gives a softer edge.
