Last Minute Oily Hair Fix

Last Minute Oily Hair Fix

Got ready for a big date and realised your hair looks too oily? Try this quick fix with powdered shampoo.

What you need

3 tbs cornstarch
1 tbs baby powder or scented perfume talcum powder (optional for scent)

Instructions

Mix up the two ingredients and apply this mix to your hair to soak up the oil and take away the excess shine.

Sprinkle lightly into your hair, allow it to sit for a few moments and then brush it out.

Make sure your hair is dry for this or you might end up with a soggy mix.

Hint: For easy application add this to an old salt shaker it makes application so much easier and controlled.

Comments

  1. I remember the days when they sold Minipoo. Which was a dry powder you put on your hair. I used to use talc, but found that cornstarch works much better.

  2. this sounds great, but it also works to use apple cider vinegar if the baby powder doesnt come out right away and you have darker hair

  3. talcum powder on it’s own works just as well

  4. I just use baby powder by itself. It saves time, no need to mix it up.

  5. Reminds me of “Mini-Poo” , available in the ’60’s. It was great for a last-minute grooming aid, especially for bangs.
These days I use so much product in my hair _spiking gel, styling wax – this would never work for me.

this sounds great! i’ll try it out sometime

  7. CraftBits (Shellie Wilson) says

It absorbs the oil out of your hair, So it will be great for camping but nothing beats shampoo and Water

  8. wait, how does it get your hair clean? i’m going camping and there’s not enough water to take a shower for three weeks. can i just use this?

  9. I use to use powder in my hair when I was a teenager. If I did’nt have time to have a shower, when going out in a hurry. Brings back memories! P.S If you can see the powder after brushing it out, go over your hair with a well rung out face washer.
