How to Make Flowers using Felt

This flower garland using felt and craft wire is a perfect spring craft. You probably have all the materials at home! So grab'em all and try making one!

What you need

To make this flower garland you’ll need:
1. Felt
2. Craft wire
3. Twine
4. Hot glue gun
5. Beads

Instructions

flower loop (1)

Step-1: Take the craft wire and from a ring by winding the wire 5-6 times. The size of the ring would depend on your choice. Keep circling the wire until the ring turns out nice and sturdy. Once the ring is ready coil the wire around the ring band and cut off extra wire. You can use any material to wrap the ring, I used twine. Simply wrap the ring band with the twine or any other materials as you like, evenly. After reaching the end tie a knot and cut off extra twine.flower loop (2)

Step-2: Take a felt and cut out a small piece from it as you can see in the picture of this step. This will be the base piece to place the flowers. Glue the piece with the ring any any side you want, but make sure to glue the sides of the felt with the ring band nicely. flower loop (3)

Step-3: Cut a felt strip (6 X 1.5 inches). Cut 6-7 petal shapes along any one side of the felt strip. flower loop (4)

Step-4: Prepare needle and thread. Stitch the straight side of the felt. Simply do running stitches all the way to the other end. Once you reach the other end push the felt towards the closed end of the thread to make a fringed pattern.

Step-5: Tie both ends of the thread (closed and open) to secure the fringes.flower loop (6)

Step-6: Make more flowers. I made the simple spiral roses and added bead on the center. Cut out leaf shapes from green colored felt fabrics.flower loop (7)

Step-7: Prepare all the flowers and leaves you wan t for the garland. When you’re done making the flowers you can simply add them on the base piece of the ring. Use hot glue to attach the flowers with the ring. Try to create a nice and sound pattern.

You can use different colored fabrics and create different types of flowers for more variation. Enjoy!
