Hair Scrunchies

Hair Scrunchies

Easy to make at home, these scrunchies will save you money!

What you need

10 cm wide fabric and 40 cm in length
Elastic around 10 mm wide x around 30 cm.

Instructions

Start by sewing your piece of fabric into a long tube, either use a sewing machine or sew it by hand.

The length of your elastic will depend on it’s elasticity but 30 cm’s is a good starting point.

Securely sew one end of your piece of elastic to the inside of your tube (at one end). Secure it by double sewing it.

Turn your tube back the right way so your elastic is hidden inside if it isn’t already.

Pulling the elastic tight, pull it all the way back around to the other end and once again secure to the other end, on top of the place where you secured the elastic to start with.

Do not sew the fabric down at this last side as you will use that to pull across and cover up the stitching.

Finish up by sewing a strong seam over both elastic joints.

  5. why dont it have pics with the steps? i messed up 2 times already!! on a scale of 1-5 id give it a 2

  6. Use to make them all the time. It was one of the only things I could sew.

  7. what I do with the elastic is to tie the ends together and hand sew the short ends of tube together. I also use a long piece of elastic(10 inches) my girls and myself have lots of hair.

  8. Sounds great. Can’t wait to try it out and give it a shot! 🙂

  9. sounds cool, definetley will try.

  10. It isn’t difficult to find the conversion from cm to in online – don’t be lazy.
    10 cm = 3.9″
    40 cm = 15.7
    10 mm = 0.393700787402″
    30 cm = 11.8″
    (1 cm = 0.393700787 in
    1 mm = 0.0393700787 in)

Hope that helps someone. By the way, great idea!! 🙂

  11. Seems very simple, however, not all of us know cm.
