Create Your Own Calendar

Create Your Own Calendar

So, I put together my 2005 Christmas Card. This year, I decided to send out blank calendar templates for friends to create their own 2006 calendar. The calendars fit inside recycled CD cases.

What you need

8 1/2 x 11 plain white paper
Recycled CD case
Your creative imagination and any other materials you care to use…

Instructions

I spent quite a bit of time formatting the calendar and thought other craftsters could use the calendar templates for their own projects – enjoy! Just print out the templates and follow the instructions.

For best results print using best quality option. Print directly on to 8 1/2 x 11 inch card stock paper or if you prefer, use decorative 8 1/2 x 11 inch scrap booking paper.

Once printed, cut along the thin gray line or use craft scrap book scissors to give the paper a decorative edge.

You can also embellish with paper punches or stamps – add drawings, small photos or poetry in the open space and handwrite significant dates in the margin. If you need to create multiple calendars, design an original version and use a color photocopier, to create the number you need.

Once cut and colored, place each section of the calendar into the jewel case. Start with December and work back to end with January on top. Use recycled cases or purchase new. Remove the paper liner and plastic portion of the case (the part that holds the CD). To do so, carefully slide thumbnail underneath the top part of the spine section and pop out the piece.

Decorate the jewel case with permanent paint pens and stickers. Or keep it simple and slide decorative paper into the front panel of the case.

If desired seal case with a sticker or ribbon.

To protect your calendar card in the mail, place it in a padded envelope.

To view and print the PDFs you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If your computer does not have this program, download it for free at www.adobe.com.
