Cowboy Cookies Mix

Combine pecan and chocolate chips to make a cowboy cookie mix for giving as a gift.

What you need

Approx. 1 Quart / 1.1 Litre Wide mouthed Jar
Recipe ingredients as shown below
Card for making tags
Ribbon
Zip Lock Bags

Instructions

Jar Ingredients:

1 1/3 cups quick oats
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda and 1/4 tsp salt.

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart wide mouth caning jar. press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient

Tag Instructions:
1. Empty jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl, blend mix together

2. Add:
1 stick butter melted (4 ounces, approximately 125 grams).
1 egg slightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla

3. Mix until completely blended

4. Shape into balls the size of walnuts place 2 inches apart on sprayed baking sheets.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 to 13 minutes until edges are lightly browned . Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet.

Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.

  2. i make cowboy cookies all the time!!! i love them! why didn’t i tink of this

  3. These look so nice! But add the flour first! Then the cho. chips and pecans. Then Brn sugar, sugar and oats last. I tried several different ways and this was best. Also, really pack each layer down or you can’t get it all in the jar!
