Crochet Coin Purse

Crochet Coin Purse

I really needed something to hold the bare essentials: My drivers licence and a dollar or two. So I designed this change (coin) purse especially for that purpose!

What you need

Two balls of size 10 cotton thread
Size 7 steel hook
Button

Instructions

THIS PATTERN IS WORKED HOLDING TWO STRANDS OF THREAD TOGETHER.

I used cream and light pastels by Aunt Lydia’s.

Start by chaining 27.

Row 1: SC in second chain from hook and in each chain across. Chain 1, turn.

Row 2-48: (or until piece measures 7 inches): SC across. Chain 1, turn.

Row 49: SC in next 13 stitches. Chain 10 (to make loop), SC in remaining 26 stitches. Fasten off.

Fold row 1 end up 2 1/2 inches. (This is the opposite end from the loop.) Attach thread to the side, at the point of the fold. SC along the side to form seam. Continue to SC side flap, around top and loop, and then down the other side flap and side seam. Finish off. Sew a button on the front.
