Christmas Mug Centerpiece

Christmas Mug Centerpiece

A mug as a centerpiece for Christmas? Of course you can!

What you need

– One 11 oz. ceramic Holiday mug
– 1 green foam mug plug
– Variety of silk floral bushes & stems
– Variety of silk leaves & branches
– 1 mini ornament
– 1 mini bow; color to match your centerpiece
– 1 strip of 3/16″ curling ribbon

Instructions

Get a mug plug and slice about 1/2″ off the top.

Insert the plug into a ceramic mug.

Begin adding silk flowers and greenery into the plug.

Cut the stems down first so that the total height is no more than 12″ though. Create it however you like with poinsettias, pine cones, eucalyptus, baby’s breath, berries, cinnamon sticks, and various greens.

Tip: Purchase bushes with 4-5 stems of flowers or leaves. You’ll save money by separating them and using the pieces for 4-5 centerpieces…rather than buying individual stems.

Then, top the design off with a bow and/or an ornament with a little ribbon attached. Cut the ribbon about 10″ long, slip it through the ring of the ornament and then tie the ends.

This will allow the recipient to place it on the Christmas if they choose to later. I added the ornament and bow to my creations.
