I am a bit confused by the directions here… take the first row for instance… 8 + 8 + 8 = 24, plus the additional 4 stitches which is really two additional stitches since 2 and 2 are together. So, shouldn’t the first row be a total count of 26 stitches? Please explain the calculations further… thank you!!

  2. this was fast (an hour for me, but I’m fairly new to knitting) -and it’s adorable. Just a simple little beanie hat; I haven’t tried it on my kids yet, but I think it will fit the 6 month old – but it has enough stretch that my toddler could probably get it on too.
