How to make Bath Bags

Bath bags are an essential part of any Bath and Body technique. Learn to make a basic bath bag here.

How to make Bath Bags

What you need

3 tbs of bath salt or epsom salts
3 tbs of dried lavender
1 tbs of oats
9.8 inch (25 cm )round circle of calico fabric
Small piece of ribbon
Elastic band

Instructions

Start by cutting out your circle. You may want to use pinking shears for this to give it a nice decorative edge but it is optional.

Measure out your ingredients into a bowl and mix them all together.

Spoon the mix into the center of the calico circle.

Gather the fabric up to form a bundle around the mix in the middle. The fabric should be quite tight around the powdery mixture.

Secure with an elastic band, then tie some ribbon around it.

You may want to design a nice “How To Use” label to affix to the bath bag.

To use simply drop the bath bag into the water and allow the hot water to run over it. Gently squeeze a few times to allow the mix to strain through.

Makes a great relaxing bath for any tired achy body.

You can purchase dried lavender from good health food stores or craft stores.

  10. It would depend on the quality of the weave on the organza bag. Add the ingredients and see if they fall out when you shake the bag. If not then your good to go.

  11. hi was wondering if you could use organza bags for these as i have some left over i would like to use them thanks

  12. Use powdered milk instead of salts and tie to tap then run water through it. Good homemade presents
